The Municipal Law Enforcement Bureau was established in May 2004. At first, it only had bureau agencies and urban management and supervision detachments. In early 2009, the Municipal Environmental Sanitation Department, the Municipal Gardening Department and the Municipal Street Lighting Department under the Municipal Construction Committee were unified under the municipal law enforcement bureau.
Currently, the Municipal Law Enforcement Bureau has 4 subordinate units and two dispatch agencies (Bincheng Branch and Development Zone Branch).
Therefore, the Municipal Environmental Sanitation Department is a subordinate unit of the Municipal Law Enforcement Bureau.
