What is the relationship between Changde and Lixian?

Lixian County is a county-level administrative region under the jurisdiction of Changde City, Hunan Province. Lixian County belongs to Changde City, located at the junction of Hunan and Hubei, bordering Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. It is named after the Lishui River running through the whole territory, with a total land area of 2,075 square kilometers and a total population of nearly one million. It is a national health county and a strong economic county in Hunan Province, and occupies an important position in the county economy of Changde City and even Hunan Province. Although Lixian County belongs to Hunan Province, it has a deep relationship with Jingzhou City in Hubei Province in history. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it was the territory of Chu, and during the Tang and Song Dynasties, it was also the jurisdiction of Jingzhou.
