How to become a securities analyst?
In fact, as an integral part of the financial market, analysts do play a very important role. Because there are a large number of non-professional investors in the market, the professional analysis conclusions and contents of analysts actually provide guidance for ordinary investors and alleviate the degree of information asymmetry in the market. In addition, analysts' tracking of enterprises also plays an external supervision role for listed companies. Because of this, this career intention has attracted the attention of all parties, especially job seekers. So how can we become one of them? Perhaps by analyzing what kind of analysts of domestic securities firms are, we can help us better understand this group.
According to the related contents of CNRDS (China Research Data Service Platform) China Securities Brokers and Analysts Database, we collected the related data of 2328 analysts, and then made a simple statistical description.
Among the 2,328 analysts, there are 65,438+0,587 males and 727 females (there are 65,438+0.4 samples, of which only non-empty samples are counted), accounting for 68.58% of males and 365,438+0.42% of females.
Judging from academic qualifications, most analysts are master students. Among the 23 17 samples with relevant data, 1792 analysts have the highest academic qualifications (accounting for 77.34%), while 284 undergraduates and 239 doctoral students respectively. In addition, the two analysts have college degrees, but both of them have been employed since the 1990s. This means that if you are interested in becoming an analyst, you need to take the postgraduate exam.
From the educational experience, 349 analysts have studied abroad, accounting for 14.99% of the total number. More importantly, nearly 40% analysts of domestic securities institutions have had the experience of top universities. For example, we found that 906 analysts in the list of "C9" universities (Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Xi Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, Harbin Institute of Technology) had studied in these nine universities, accounting for 38.9638%. In addition, there are 4 12 analysts studying in domestic financial institutions (here, professional financial institutions, such as Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, university of international business and economics University and Xi University of Finance and Economics), accounting for 17.69% of the total. From this point of view, although there will be some overlap among the three groups of people, it is obvious that the profession of analyst has a certain educational threshold, and famous schools and relatively highly educated job seekers are more popular. Of course, this is related to the professional requirements of this industry, but the concentration of academic qualifications also makes the so-called alumni circle a very hot topic in related research.
Finally, let's look at the age structure of employees. Of course, because the specific age data is not yet available, we use the work start time of the relevant personnel as a substitute. It should be pointed out that this does not mean the time to enter the securities industry, but the time to start a career. The earlier you get, the older you get. The working hours of the samples in the database range from 1976 to 20 15. The results show that most employees joined after 2004, that is to say, most employees are under 40 years old (assuming that the employees who joined in 2004 are 25 years old), which means that domestic analysts are a relatively young industry, which can also explain why they are in 165438.
From the above statistical analysis, if you are interested in becoming a securities analyst, then I'm afraid you should go to a top university to study for a master's degree while you are young. After all, in this world of early fame, even the analysts who have been evaluated by new wealth are getting thicker and thicker.
