Chen Dongyou: Today, I am here to communicate with my classmates as a teacher. I hope the students will make themselves at home and ask questions enthusiastically. "How to be a man, how to do things and how to learn" is a big problem. In order to expand students' thinking of asking questions, I will briefly tell you these three points first.

In my opinion, nowadays college students are facing some problems. Many students think that "reading is useless" and their enthusiasm for learning is not high. Besides, there are many temptations around us. For example, some students are addicted to games, some students are tempted by immediate interests, interrupt their studies and go into business, and some students are obsessed with love. These are all manifestations of not cherishing learning opportunities. I have a couplet that has been used for many years, and I want to give it to you: "The bench will be cold for ten years, and the article will not be empty." I often reflect on myself: Do I take learning seriously? Did you write an article without empty sentences? As a student, we should have the determination and perseverance to "sit on the bench for ten years" and endure loneliness. Only in this way can you learn well and lay a good foundation for your career success.

Speaking of life and career, I have to mention one person here-Yuan Peng, deputy editor-in-chief of Xinyu Daily. She is my junior and graduated from Jiangxi University. 1998, my husband had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage, leaving the sequelae of hemiplegia. Yuan Peng has been taking good care of him. I have been taking him to work for eight years, and my family and career have been fruitful. As the saying goes, "There is no dutiful son before bed", but in Yuan Peng, what we see is a good wife before bed! How commendable it is, and what kind of responsibility it is!

No one can guarantee that his future life will be smooth sailing, but Yuan Peng raised a question for us in dealing with the relationship between life, career and family: "How should we face our own life? How to face setbacks and hardships? " I think this is a question that every student should think about.

Some students may say, "Your road is so smooth, your career is very good, and your family is also very good. Of course, it's easier said than done! " Then let me talk about my own experience! I am not as happy as you. I was born in such a good time and have such good study and material conditions. I was delayed by the Cultural Revolution for ten years. I am a teacher in xiang tang Tiezhong. At the age of 28, I was admitted to the university with my students. 35 years old, studying for a master's degree. At the age of 45, I got my doctorate. When I was your age, I was still guarding the reservoir and laying bricks in the countryside! In a word, I didn't put my precious years in the right place. Isn't this also a setback and a bump?

What is the purpose of university education? In my opinion, it is secondary to impart knowledge and let you master a professional skill. The most important thing is to improve your cultural accomplishment and moral cultivation, help you establish a correct outlook on life and values, and let you learn to be a man.

In addition, I also want to mention the issue of love. To make an inappropriate analogy, "love" is like water in a reservoir. To a certain extent, it will overflow, which is the so-called "flooded reservoir". At your age, there will be no shortage of love, and you may be in the stage of "overflowing the library". In our time, love is suppressed and can only penetrate underground in the form of groundwater. Same as you, different. You are more open-minded and direct. I don't object to students falling in love, but I hope your love is not only directed at a certain opposite sex, but also extended to love the whole society, that is, to cultivate their sense of social responsibility. It is important to have a sense of serving everyone. Young people are the backbone of social development. Only when you are excellent can our country be excellent.

Q: Teacher Chen, you just talked about the sense of responsibility of college students. So what do you think, as contemporary college students, how should we put our sense of social responsibility into practice?

Chen Dongyou: For example, the two sessions proposed to build a new socialist countryside. I think, if college students can go down to the grass-roots level to be the main cadres and let these passionate, knowledgeable and broad-minded young people become the backbone of building a new socialist countryside, it will undoubtedly greatly promote the realization of this goal. However, a very realistic problem is that the current village-level cadres have no professional titles and can only get meager government subsidies. What can college students do to support our parents and pursue a better life if they do such jobs after graduation? Therefore, I think, first of all, the Party committee and government should have a sound mechanism that can provide good conditions for a group of passionate and talented young college students, encourage them from policies, and turn their sense of social responsibility into concrete actions.

Secondly, a student with social responsibility should be a young volunteer. At present, the work of young volunteers at school is usually just to offer love to nursing homes, children's villages, schools for the disabled and other places. This kind of work is too simple and not enough. They should go into the community and do practical things for a wider group of people. In addition, I have a suggestion, that is, don't be organized at every turn. There are many things we can do, and we can start with the little things in our daily life voluntarily.

Some time ago, Shanghai organized a delegation to visit Nagoya, the host city of the last World Expo. What impressed them most was that even in the most prosperous urban area, there was not a cigarette butt, a piece of paper or a trace of phlegm. Think about it. Can we do that? It can be said that the hardware facilities in big cities in China are not worse than those in other countries, but there is still a big gap in the quality of citizens. Therefore, what college students with a sense of responsibility should do is to improve the national quality of the whole society through our efforts. Of course, we should also be mentally prepared. While being aware of your sense of social responsibility, you should be able to bear the possible incomprehension, satire, ridicule, even abuse and false accusation of people around you.

Q: Teacher Chen, there is a phenomenon that some students start businesses while studying. In view of this phenomenon, can you talk to us about the relationship between education and occupation?

Chen Dongyou: This phenomenon does exist. In the process of choosing a job, getting employment and starting a business, some students are influenced by the impetuous atmosphere of society and show some psychology of quick success and instant benefit. One of my graduate students is like this. When he was in the second grade, he was anxious to find a job. As a result, the work was not found, the knowledge was not done well, and I was at a loss. Therefore, in my opinion, education is the foundation of career, and college students should calm down, do a good job in their studies and lay a good foundation before they can talk about career.

However, we should not be too absolute on this issue. Now there are many bosses of private enterprises with low academic qualifications, but they can still make their enterprises bigger and stronger. It can't be said that their career is unsuccessful, let alone that their contribution to social development must be less than that of people with high academic qualifications. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze specific problems. When it is necessary and possible, we should certainly climb to a higher level of knowledge, but when we have learned a certain degree, when the opportunity to start a business comes, we should also develop our own business in time instead of blindly pursuing high academic qualifications.

Q: At present, many employers attach great importance to the work experience of candidates, while college students mainly study theoretical knowledge at school, which leads to many college students losing their jobs as soon as they graduate. So, Mr. Chen, how do you think we should find a balance between managing college time and exercising our employability?

Chen Dongyou: This is a very realistic problem. I think some enterprises have done very wrong in recruiting and selecting people. Many enterprises need talents who know the specific operation, just like the former secondary school students and vocational school students, not undergraduates and graduate students. The purpose of undergraduate education is to cultivate educated people with clear personality consciousness and certain theoretical basis, while the training goal of graduate students is to let students know how to learn, which is not what enterprises need. However, due to the increasing number of undergraduates and postgraduates, some enterprises have raised the recruitment standards blindly.

As for the purpose of university enrollment expansion in recent years, it should be to improve the quality of the people, not to ensure the employment of citizens. Improving citizens' quality is the task of education, and ensuring citizens' employment should be the responsibility of the government and society. At present, in the face of relatively insufficient jobs, undergraduates and postgraduates have to lower their standards and requirements and go to factories and enterprises to do jobs that they could have done after studying technology in middle schools or junior colleges, which is a waste of educational resources.

Because the employment rate is directly related to the number of students and the development of a school, universities have to make some corresponding adjustments in curriculum arrangement, strengthen vocational training for students, reduce some basic theories and increase practical courses. Take the Chinese Department as an example. What undergraduates should do in school is to understand the development of literature, study literary criticism, understand Chinese and foreign literature, and study ideology and humanities after graduation. But in fact, because most students who graduated from the Chinese Department will be engaged in writing, the school has added courses such as computer operation and how to learn to write reports. It can be said that the whole education sector is adjusting to employment. The current employment problem has great pressure on students, schools and even education, which is actually the impetuous wind and utilitarian wind in society that distorts our education.

I have an idealized idea that one day our education can return to its original state. Therefore, I still insist that college students should not neglect theory and attach importance to technology for the sake of employment, but should lay a solid theoretical foundation and improve all aspects of literacy, because only in this way can they respond to changes with constancy.

About "live honestly, work honestly and study honestly"

How to be a man and how to act reflects a person's character, cultivation and style. Adhering to the unity of being a man and doing things is not only the minimum requirement of being a man, but also the highest realm of being a man. In modern society, with the continuous expansion of social life and frequent communication between people, it is more necessary to consciously use laws and moral norms to restrain themselves in order to create a good social environment and promote the development of * * *. Being honest, doing things with integrity and studying hard are the requirements of the new society for every member of society, and they are also the principles and norms that each of us should always follow.

Honesty means adhering to principles and being honest and trustworthy in dealing with people. The existence and development of society can not be separated from the maintenance and promotion of legal system and moral system. As a member of society, everyone's words and deeds should follow the principle of * * *, which is in line with social interests. Integrity, including moral innocence, spiritual pursuit of nobility, and honest behavior; In the relationship between words and deeds, it is necessary to be consistent with words and deeds; Be strict with yourself and be lenient with others in your attitude towards others and yourself. Honesty is the foundation of standing, believing and standing. Only the process of understanding things, resolving contradictions and solving problems according to their true colors is the process of seeking truth from facts. Doing things in good faith is not only a rigorous attitude, but also a scientific method.
