Meihekou Kangmei Vocational and Technical College is a full-time unified medical college approved by Jilin Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It enrolls students nationwide. The college was listed in the Tenth Five-Year Plan for the Construction of Colleges and Universities in Jilin Province and approved by the Ministry of Education, and it is planned to be transformed into a "public" higher vocational college.

The College is located in an important transportation hub and trade port town in the southeast and northeast of Jilin Province, an important node city in the middle and east of Jilin Province, and meihekou city (Meihe New District), a regional central city in the southeast. It is the first provincial-level new district in Jilin Province and the only provincial-level development zone upgraded to ministerial level in China.
