Weinan Normal University, located in Weinan, Shaanxi, is a multi-disciplinary general institution of higher learning with teacher education as its main feature. The school has gone through three periods: the original Weinan Normal College, the Weinan Vocational College of Shaanxi Normal University, and the Weinan Normal College. In 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Weinan Normal College merged with Weinan Education College, founded in 1983, to form Weinan Normal College at the undergraduate level.

In May 2018, the school’s official website showed that the school’s three campuses, Chaoyang, Xiyue and Hanma, have a construction area of ??nearly 868,000 square meters; it consists of 12 secondary colleges and international exchange colleges, China Cangjie Han College and The School of Continuing Education has 64 undergraduate majors; more than 1,300 faculty and staff; and more than 17,000 students.
