It is reported that the institute opened the research direction of low-carbon economy two years ago and recruits graduate students every year. It is understood that the Ministry of Education recently issued a notice saying that China intends to set up related majors in undergraduate education in colleges and universities for important strategic emerging industries such as Internet, green economy, low-carbon economy, environmental protection technology and biomedicine. According to the notice of the Ministry of Education, relevant universities can actively declare new majors related to the demand for talents in strategic emerging industries according to their own teaching staff and experimental conditions. "Low-carbon" major came into being. It is understood that Peking University has added a major in energy and resource engineering this year, and China Low-carbon Development Research Center was established in May 15. Beijing Union University will continue to recruit industrial engineering majors this year. According to Professor Cheng Guang, vice president of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, industrial engineering is the "most authentic" low-carbon major. Low-carbon talents in the market are favored as never before. The rapid development of low-carbon industry makes low-carbon talents more popular than ever. According to the data of a recruitment website, in March this year, the number of jobs in Beijing's low-carbon industries, represented by automobile, environmental protection and electric power, increased by1.8%, 20.8% and 8.2% respectively compared with February, and increased by 98.6%, 107.3% and/kloc respectively compared with the same period last year. In addition, at the "Job Fair for Low-carbon Enterprises" held by Beijing Talent Service Center not long ago, more than 40 high-tech and new energy enterprises from three major fields, such as automobile, electric power and environmental protection, provided more than 1000 jobs, attracting thousands of college graduates from Peking University and Tsinghua.
