Chengdu Art Vocational College is a comprehensive full-time general higher vocational college directly under the leadership of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and featuring design majors. When it was first established in 1999, it jointly organized the Sichuan Normal University School of Design and Art with Sichuan Normal University. In 2002, with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education, it was officially established as Chengdu Art Vocational College, recruiting higher vocational college students nationwide. At the same time, it will continue to jointly run schools with Sichuan Normal University to train undergraduate students in design majors. The two colleges implement the management and operation model of "one team, two brands, full sharing of resources, unified management, and independent student status".

The college is located at the foothills of Muma Mountain in the southern suburbs of Chengdu and on the banks of the Yangliu River, Huayuan Town, a star city known as the "source of flowers and the home of water". The campus is full of greenery, with birds singing and the fragrance of flowers all year round, and the environment is quiet. It is a good place to study and study.

The college currently has more than 400 full-time and part-time teachers, among whom teachers with senior professional titles account for more than 350% of the total number of teachers. There are more than 5,700 students on campus, including more than 5,100 vocational college students and more than 620 undergraduate students.

Today, the college offers 21 vocational and undergraduate majors, with design majors as the main ones. Among them, the Department of Environmental Art has four majors and professional directions: environmental art design (including landscape design), interior design technology, and art design (urban garden design); the Department of Graphic Art has four majors and professional directions: advertising design and production, clothing design, and packaging (decoration). There are 4 majors including technology and design, tourism handicraft design and production; the Department of Animation Art has 4 majors and professional directions including film and television animation, animation design and production, game software, and computer multimedia technology (web design); the Department of Performance has 4 majors and professional directions: film and television performance, animation design and production, etc. There are 4 majors including music performance, music education, and dance performance; the Department of Management and Journalism has 5 majors including engineering cost, architectural design technology, chain operation management, hotel management, and news gathering, editing and production (in the direction of cultural and sports journalism). The English Department has two majors: Business English and Tourism English. The two majors of Environmental Art Design and Advertising Design and Production are the key majors of the college.

The college central teaching building, art complex building, arts and sciences building, training building, library and other unique styles, classrooms, multimedia classrooms, painting studios, piano rooms, music classrooms, practice rooms, professional computer rooms and other teaching The equipment and facilities are complete and can fully meet the teaching needs. There are also renovated art palaces, standard sports fields, swimming pools, blue volleyball courts, table tennis courts, tennis and golf training grounds and other cultural and sports facilities.

The college attaches great importance to professional internship training and teaching. There are currently more than 20 internship training rooms on campus, including computer-aided design training rooms, voice training rooms, graphic design training rooms, clothing design and Production training room, photography training room, design and drawing training room, two-dimensional animation design and production training room, sculpture training room, etc. At the same time, 25 off-campus internship and training bases have been established, including the famous Chengdu Pu Su Tang Visual Art Museum (Xu Liaoyuan Modern Design Art Museum), Guangdong Yibang (Xingyi) Decoration Co., Ltd., Sipu Software Company and Pengzhou Osmanthus Dragon Kiln clay pottery factory, etc.

The college attaches great importance to the employment of graduates, setting up a special employment office, implementing a "two-way selection" recommendation employment system, and conducting skill-strengthening training in conjunction with enterprises to improve students' professional abilities, practical abilities and employment capabilities, and has signed long-term employment agreements with more than 100 corporate units. Guangdong Xingyi Decoration Co., Ltd., an internationally renowned decoration company, recruits 150-200 graduates for employment in the college every year. Over the past five years, the student employment rate has remained stable at above 96%, ranking among the best among similar institutions.
