When applying for a company, does HR really do the opposite?
Many people will be a little worried when they see this hint. I want to do some optimization on my resume, but I'm afraid that HR will do background checks, and I'll have to bear the responsibility myself in the end. It is no advantage for you to fill in the information truthfully. For many job seekers, especially those college students who have just entered the society, this state makes them very upset. So in practical work, will it really be so strict?
1. What is a background check? Accurately speaking, it is to do a survey and verification according to the information filled in by job seekers. In order to check whether the information filled in by job seekers is true.
Background investigation usually includes but is not limited to the following parts. Personal basic information, education, past work experience, past salary, working years, personal evaluation of former boss and colleagues, etc. Among them, HR is most concerned about education and previous work experience, salary and working years.
Second, will HR really do a background check? Background checks do exist, but there are also branches and positions. Generally, small-scale companies don't do background checks. Unless it is like some big companies, such as Alibaba and Tencent, they will do more detailed background checks on job seekers. And like some start-up companies or small-scale companies, generally speaking, they don't do background checks.
In addition, background checks are also divided into posts. If you only apply for some grassroots positions, you will basically not do background checks. Background checks are generally only for those core positions, or management. After all, you don't need to do background checks to apply for grass-roots positions. Moreover, background investigation is not so easy, and it takes a lot of time, manpower and material resources.
Third, the way of background investigation There are usually two ways to check the background, that is, self-examination or asking a third party to investigate. Self-examination is HR's own investigation. Basically, they take the information filled in by job seekers and ask the job seekers whether the information filled in is true according to the telephone number of their superiors or colleagues provided above. The probability of such fraud is very high, so it is basically such a process.
Asking a third-party agency to investigate will be much more professional and rigorous. Adhering to the principle of seeking truth, many large companies will hire some third-party institutions to conduct background checks on job seekers. The information surveyed by this professional organization will be more real. Therefore, large enterprises will basically use this method. However, it will save a lot of time to ask a third party to do the investigation, although it is highly authentic, but the cost will be great.
Most of our country are small and medium-sized companies, and we won't hire a third party to do background checks unless it involves relatively core departmental positions. After all, it costs a lot of money to hire a third-party organization. Many small and medium-sized companies will not pay this fee at all in order to save costs. So I really don't have to worry too much about whether HR will do the back tone.
Fourth, the resume can be optimized appropriately. Filling in the resume truthfully is the stepping stone for us to apply for a big company, so the information on the resume also determines the following salary negotiation link. When filling in your resume, you can optimize it appropriately, but you can't go too far. Proper optimization does not mean cheating, but packaging. So as long as it is not too exaggerated and harmless, it is more conducive to talking about wages later.
Of course, if you are applying for a job in a big company, you must fill it out truthfully. Because big companies will do background checks seriously and pay more attention to personal integrity. If the fraud is discovered by the company, the final result is not worth the loss, and it will be a great loss.
Xi said: Whether HR does background check should be judged according to the size of the company and the importance of the position applied for. If the company is not big and the position applied for is not a core position, it is less likely to do a background check. If it is a big company and the applicant is an important department, there is a great chance of doing a background check.
Of course, regardless of whether the company does a background check, the resume must be true. You can optimize it appropriately, but never cheat. In particular, important information must be truthfully filled in. To find a job smoothly, in the final analysis, it must be based on integrity.
