Is Runan Normal University a technical secondary school or a junior college?

It is a college degree.

Under the entry of Zhumadian Preschool Teachers College, we see that the school is the only Preschool Teachers College in southern Henan. The school’s predecessor was Runan Preschool Normal School in Henan Province, which was founded in 1906. It is a famous normal school with a history of more than 100 years.

In the autumn of 1952, it was renamed as "Runan Junior Normal School". It recruited high school graduates and young people with the same academic level. The schooling lasted for three years. After graduation, the state would uniformly assign jobs. In 1955, the school moved to the Runan campus and was renamed "Henan Runan Normal School".

In 2001, Runan Normal School tried to run a school on two legs and established a high school department. The following year, the state adjusted the layout and structure of normal schools, transitioning from three-level normal schools to two-level normal schools. It was renamed "Henan Runan Preschool Normal School".

In October 2010, Zhumadian City No. 4 Senior High School (formerly Shangcai Normal School) was merged into Runan Preschool Normal School. On October 27, 2010, four institutions including Runan Preschool Normal School moved into the municipal vocational education park for planning and construction. In 2017, it was upgraded to Zhumadian Preschool Normal College after being registered with the Ministry of Education.
