How to get to the Great Wall other than the Great Wall from Datong City?
Daxi Street, located in the center of Datong, was built on the basis of Huayan Classic, one of the seven schools of Buddhism, hence the name Huayan Temple. The main buildings in the temple are Daxiong Hall (Upper Temple) and the hall of Tibetan Buddhism (Lower Temple). Their buildings, statues, murals, walls and caissons are all examples of Liao Dynasty art in China.
The Upper Huayan Temple, commonly known as the Upper Temple, is a building complex with the Ursa Major Hall as the main body. Entering the mountain gate, you can see that the lintels on both sides of the square gate are engraved with the words "Flower Laughter" and "Green Bamboo Room", all of which are from Buddhist allusions. Daxiong Hall was built in the eighth year of Qing Ning in Liao Dynasty (1062) and was destroyed by fire in the second year of Bao (1 122). In the third year of the Jin Dynasty (1 140), Tian Juan was rebuilt in the old site, and it has been repaired in subsequent dynasties. The main hall is nine rooms wide and five rooms deep, with an area of 1559 square meters. It is the largest existing Buddhist temple in Liao and Jin Dynasties in China and one of the largest Buddhist temples in China (the other is the main hall of Fengguo Temple in Yixian County, Liaoning Province). There are five Buddha statues named Five Dhyani Buddhas on the altar in the temple. The middle three are wood carvings, and the other two and other threatened bodhisattvas are clay sculptures. On both sides of the altar, there are ten statues of the heavens (protectors), with different expressions and leaning forward. There are 2 1 huge murals of Qing Dynasty painted on the four walls of the temple, which are colorful, resplendent and well-preserved, ranking second among the temple murals in Shanxi Province, second only to Ruicheng Yongle Palace.
Xiahuayan Temple is located in the southeast of Shangsi Temple, with the building of Baojia Tibetan Hall in Liao Dynasty as the main building, and Datong Museum is located in Xiahuayan Temple. Bhagavan is Sanskrit, which translates as "Buddha" and is one of the top ten titles of Buddha. The Collection of Prajna Paramita Classics is the classic collection said by Sakyamuni. The collection of Bagado Buddhism has been the collection of Huayan Temple since the middle of Liao Dynasty. Built in the 7th year of Chongxi in Liao Dynasty (1038), the Buddhist Tibetan Hall is five rooms wide and four rooms deep, with strict architectural structure and stable shape. The four walls of the temple are lined with 38 heavy wooden pavilions, and a Tiangong Castle is hung in the middle of the back wall of the temple. These exquisite wooden models are of great scientific value to the study of ancient architectural art in China, and the famous architect Liang Sicheng called them "orphans in the sea". This temple, together with Erxian Temple in Song Dynasty in Jincheng and Jingtu Temple in Yingxian County in Jin Dynasty, constitutes the unique local characteristics of ancient buildings in Shanxi. There are 3 1 statues of the Liao Dynasty in the temple. These two most classic statues are highly praised and appreciated by scholars and tourists. The grinning Buddha statue is elegant, beautiful and moving, and has the highest artistic value. The Bodhisattva Samantabhadra statue reveals delicate and touching feelings and has unique charm.
Huayan Temple was one of the important temples of Huayan Sect in China during Liao and Jin Dynasties. There are mountain gates, Buddhist temples and Yunshui halls in the front yard. There are guest rooms, meditation halls and temples in the backyard. The main buildings in the temple are Mahayana Hall (Upper Temple) and Bagata Tibetan Hall (Lower Temple). & ltBR & gt Built in the 7th year of Chongxi in Liao Dynasty (1038), the Buddhist Temple is five rooms wide and four rooms deep. Huayan Temple was built in Liao Dynasty, and Huayan Sect of Buddhism prevailed in Liao Dynasty. Daozong also wrote ten volumes of Hua Yan Jing by applause, so Yunzhong (Yunzhong County, now in Yanbei area of Datong) specially built Yan Jianhua Temple. Because there are stone statues and bronze statues of Emperor Feng 'an in the temple, it also has the nature of the royal ancestral temple in Liao Dynasty. In the second year of Liaobao (1 122), some buildings in the temple were destroyed by fire, and then rebuilt, and it was still a giant temple in the clouds in the early Yuan Dynasty. During the reign of Xuande and Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty, great events were rebuilt and the Buddha statue was rebuilt, which was exciting. After the middle of the Ming Dynasty, it was divided into two temples, each with a mountain gate. At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the temple was destroyed again, and after several repairs, it became today's scale. Although the upper and lower halls are integrated now, they are still centered on a main hall. Shangsi Temple is mainly composed of Jinlou Hall, which is divided into two halls: Shanmen, Sidu, Guanyin Pavilion, Dizang Pavilion and Liangxiangxuan. The heights are scattered and orderly. The lower temple is centered on the Baojia Sect Tibetan Hall in Liao Dynasty, with statues of Liao Dynasty, stone sutra buildings, pavilion-style Tibetan sutra pavilions and celestial pavilions. To the east of the second brick gate in Sixia, there are the Heavenly King Hall, the North-South Attached Hall and the Mountain Gate, which are not the first courtyards. The main halls of this temple face east, which is related to the religious beliefs and living customs of the Qidan people who believe in ghosts and worship the sun and focus on the east.
Huayan Temple Hall: In the north corner of Huayan Temple. Founded in Liao, Baoda Rebellion (1 122) was destroyed by fire, and it was rebuilt in Jin for three years (1 140). The main hall faces east, with nine halls in width and five halls in depth, with an area of 1.559 square meters. Standing on a platform more than 4 meters high, it was one of the largest Buddhist temples in Liao and Jin Dynasties. The eaves are 9.5 meters high and there are temples. The glass kiss on the main ridge is very big, up to 4.5 meters. The kiss at the northern end is a relic of the Jin Dynasty. It's been a calm day since the rain. The doors between the heart chamber and the left and right wings are open. They are primitive in shape and are old things of the Jin Dynasty. The pot door decorated in front of the door is known for a long time. In the temple, the column lowering method was adopted, which reduced the number of internal columns by 12, expanded the space area in front, and facilitated the placement of Buddha statues and Buddhist activities. There are statues of Five Dhyani Buddhas and the Twenty Immortals in the Ming Dynasty, and the surrounding walls are rare in the Qing Dynasty. There are 973 colorful faces on the ceiling, most of which were made in Qing Dynasty. Rings, dragons and phoenixes, flowers and plants, Sanskrit and other painted patterns. It is changeable. There is also a 2.5-meter-high wooden pavilion model in the hall, which is modeled after the dry building in the northwest corner of Datong City in Ming Dynasty and is an important material for studying the structure of Datong Tower in Ming Dynasty.
nine-dragon screen
Located in the south of Dongjie Road, Datong City, Shanxi Province, it was built at the end of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty and is the screen wall in front of Zhu Guifu, the thirteenth king of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of the Ming Dynasty. This wall is 8m high, 2.02m thick and 45.5m long. Nine dragons are evenly and harmoniously distributed on the wall. There are sun and moon patterns on both sides. This wall is composed of 426 pieces of specially-made colorful glazed components. The nine dragons are magnificent, and the momentum of flying leaps from the wall. The gap between dragons is covered with patterns of rocks and aquatic plants, which reflect each other and form a contrast. The wall is covered with glazed tiles and supported by glazed arches. At the bottom of the wall is Sumitomo, 2.09 meters high. Three-dimensional rich, carved with 4 1 group of Shuanglong play beads. This wall is 8m high, 2.02m thick and 45.5m long. The height of the main body of the Kowloon Wall alone is 3.72 meters. There are nine dragons evenly and harmoniously distributed on the wall, which are lifelike and have a soaring momentum. In the middle of the dragon, it is the center of Kowloon. Its faucet is moving forward, its tail is swinging, and its yellow body is glowing. The two dragons on both sides of the main dragon are symmetrical to each other, forming a vivid picture. The gap between dragons is covered with patterns of rocks and aquatic plants, which reflect each other and form a contrast. On both sides of the wall, there are patterns of the sun and the moon, which are made of 426 special colored glazed components. The top of the wall is covered with glazed tiles and the bottom is supported by glazed arches. At the bottom of the wall is Sumitomo, 2.09 meters high. Three-dimensional rich, carved with 4 1 group of Shuanglong play beads. The waist is made of 75 pieces of glazed bricks, with many animal images such as cattle, horses, rice, dogs, deer and rabbits, which are lively and colorful. The composition of the whole Jiulong Wall is harmonious, the proportion is appropriate, and the style is simple, steady and dignified.
There is a reflection pool in front of the Kowloon Wall and a stone bridge in the middle for pedestrians to walk through. The reflection of the dragon in the water turns the static dragon into a dynamic dragon, which can be described as ingenious.
Located in the south of Dongjie Road, Datong City, Jiulongbi is a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit.
On June 25th, 20001year, as an ancient building in Ming Dynasty, Datong Jiulongbi was approved by the State Council to be included in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Whenever the morning sun rises, there is golden light everywhere, which paints the Kowloon Wall with a dazzling brilliance. The dragon seems to have broken through the fog and swam over. When the morning mist clears, the nine dragons are more beautiful, and thousands of golden lights shine on them. The dragon transformed itself, held its head high and wagged its tail, coiled and bent, churned on the waves and walked through the flowing clouds, just like a real dragon reappearing, as if it were alive.
The origin of the Nine Dragons Wall is this: After Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, made a tripod for Yingtianfu, he divided many sons into kings to defend the central government.
Zhu Gui, the thirteenth son of Zhu Yuanzhang, was made a prince when he was a child, but he didn't read poetry since he was a child, and he was stupid by nature and had a strange temper. He dared not give the stars to the moon, nor did he dare to change the pig's tail into a cow's head. Nearly twenty years old, Zhu Yuanzhang saw that he had no talent or virtue, abolished the position of prince, and made him the acting king, guarding Datong. When Dai Wang came to Datong, he was bullying in the street and often killed people for no reason. Datong people secretly called him "Daiwang".
It is said that when the king is 60 years old, he often wears narrow clothes and a bald hat. As soon as he was happy, he went backstage to dress up as a big soldier, and whenever he was free, he took a few guards to make trouble in Xiaonan Street, flirting with good women, just like a local ruffian.
Dai Wang's wife, the daughter of General Xu Da, is an ugly and jealous bitch, although she is the daughter of the family. She once painted two beautiful girls on Wang's face with the bottom of a black pot to vent her jealousy. In this way, the couple stirred up the big city and made people miserable.
After Zhu Yuanzhang abolished the position of acting crown prince, he let his four sons inherit the throne. When the contemporary king heard the news, he made a scene in Jindian, clamoring to be emperor. Zhu Yuanzhang had no choice but to build a palace in the same city, which made Dai Wang have an "emperor addiction". Therefore, the ancient city of Datong still has street names such as Emperor Street, Main Hall Street, Donghuamen and Dayoucang, all of which are ruins of the old palace. After the palace was repaired, it was difficult to gag the king.
One day, the prince suddenly remembered to go to Yan Di to see his fourth brother Judy. The prince was annoyed and afraid of his brother, but he was helpless. He had to bite the bullet and have a small banquet for three days and a big banquet for five days. One day, King Dai, full of food and drink, wandered outside the palace. He looked up and saw a newly built glazed nine-dragon wall in front of the palace. He was very happy and clamored to build one in front of Datong's palace and bring the pattern back to Datong. Dai Wang immediately called Wu's father and son, glaze workers in Wujiayao, Huairen, and ordered them to burn the dragon wall. When Wang Jixu learned about it, he demanded that it must be "two feet longer, two feet higher and two inches thicker than Yan's dragon wall", but Dai Wang had no choice but to agree. So far, the Nine Dragon Wall in Datong is the largest in China, and it can't compare with that in the Forbidden City.
Six months later, the Nine Dragon Wall was built. Outside the ceremony, colored lights were decorated and drums and music were ringing. Zhu Gui, the acting king, Xu Da, the old general, and Wang Jixu, his daughter, boarded the observation deck to watch. They are really tall and spectacular. The glazed tiles on the top of the wall in the sun are dazzling, and the two golden Wolong on the main ridge are lifelike; Nine glazed dragons on the wall, or winding, or playing with pearls, or smoking with their heads held high; There are lions, tigers, elephants, deer, dogs, unicorns and flying horses carved in the middle of the huge Sumi Mountain. Some of them fly like flies, some look back with their tails up, and some walk step by step. The image is very clear. The entire Kowloon City Wall is 45.5 meters long, 8 meters high and 2.2 meters thick.
Leng Dai Wang Jimin was furious, drinking and shouting. After a while, it was overcast and cloudy, and it began to rain. On behalf of the king, he ordered people to hold lanterns and light candles. Soon, the red candles burned brightly and the palace lanterns were lit. Through the rain curtain, Kowloon bathes in the water on the painted wall, which is confusing and has a unique taste. Therefore, there is a saying that "dragons play in the rain". King Dai called "OK" again, and suddenly there was lightning and thunder in the air, followed by three thunders. Zhu Gui was surprised and the cup fell to the ground. He seemed to see two dragons falling from the sky, one black and one yellow, spitting water like a spring in front of the wall. It turns out that the dragon on the dragon wall is fake, which attracts the dragon in the sky to beg for rain. After a while, the rainbow was in the sky, the sunset glow was red, and the dragon wall baptized by rain and ice was even more colorful. On behalf of the king, he sent someone to the Dragon Wall to inquire about the scars. The people who came back reported that the Jinbo warehouse behind the dragon wall was smashed out of two wells by thunder within three steps, and the two wells were sweet and bitter. Now it is Kimbocang's "two-step and two-eye well", and it is also a scene of Kowloon Wall. Today, there is still a saying among the people that "three steps are good for both eyes, one bitter is sweet". However, a pit was blown by thunder in front of the dragon wall, and the pit was filled with clear water, so Dai Wang built a pool in front of the wall. Nine dragons are reflected in the water, and the wind blows the water, like "Youlong playing in the water", which becomes another scene of the Nine Dragons Wall. This pool draws water from two wells. Sweet wells are for human consumption, and bitter wells can cure diseases. It is said that in the old society, there would be no "opium smoke" without this well water. So some people come from thousands of miles away to get water. This pool is called "Reflection Pool", which is the fourth scene of the Nine Dragon Wall.
