Brief introduction of Maji township

Maji Township (formerly Maji Township in Jiaxiang County) is located in the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, 6 kilometers south of Jiaxiang County, Ceng Zi's hometown. The terrain is high in the west and low in the east, with waterlogged depressions in the east and hills in the west. Tangkou Town, rencheng district, Jining is in the east, Jintun Town in the south, Zhifang Town in the west and Jiaxiang Town in the north. The Zhushui River flows northward through the whole territory, and the Jining airport special line runs through the north and south of the township. It is located at 1 1 6,06' E and 35 N,11'. It belongs to the alluvial plain of the Yellow River, with a total area of 43 square kilometers, cultivated land area of 39,000 mu and population of 36,000. It governs 40 administrative villages and is a famous hometown of stone carving. There are also Maji Township in Qihe County, Shandong Province, Maji Township in Zhecheng County, Henan Province, and Maji Town in Huaibin County, Henan Province. 2011September, Maji Township in Jiaxiang County was abolished and Maji Town in Jiaxiang County was established. On the morning of February 27th, 20 14, the unveiling ceremony of Jining Economic and Technological Development Zone was held in Jiaxiang County. The newly established core area of Jining Economic and Technological Development Zone has jurisdiction over Tuanli Town and Maji Town of Jiaxiang County.
