On May 18, 2005, the school officially signed an agreement with the PLA Navy to train reserve officers, and established the China People's Liberation Army Selection and Training Office in Xi University of Technology. So far, 3 10 national defense students have been selected and enrolled, including 5 female students and 2 graduate students, and 20 majors are distributed in 8 colleges of the school.

First, the school has made great efforts to do a good job in the basic construction of training military talents. First of all, a leading group for national defense students was established, with the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the school as the leader, two vice presidents in charge of teaching and student work as the deputy heads of the leading group, and the director of the training office and the leaders of school students, educational affairs and other functional departments as members.

The leading group of national defense students directly leads and participates in the training of national defense students, holds regular meetings to analyze the situation and problems in the training of national defense students, conducts national defense special education once a month, and often holds reports on patriotism and national defense awareness. The national defense students' brigade was established. The school sent a deputy director of the student affairs office as the political commissar of the brigade, and assigned counselors to participate in the training and selection work, and directly participated in the summer military training and navigation practice of national defense students. The Political and Educational Affairs Department also sent people to attend the weekly work meeting, communicated with the deputy secretary and vice president of the Political and Educational Affairs Department and the college in charge of students in time, and analyzed the ideological trends, study and life of national defense students.

The training and selection office has successively formulated the office work system, the duties of the reserve officer's office, the duties of the office director, the duties of the office officer, the study system and the office financial system, and at the same time formulated the daily management system, interview standards, assessment standards and quantitative assessment rules for national defense students. The establishment of the system has laid a good foundation for the selection and training office to step on the right track and carry out its work in an orderly manner.

In order to familiarize national defense students with the life system of the army in advance, the naval training office in the school simulates the company system in management mode, appoints district captains, squad leaders and other cadres, and implements the cadre rotation system, so that national defense students can participate in self-management, forming a virtuous circle of mutual evaluation and striving for Excellence.

The school adheres to the training mode of national defense students, which focuses on scientific and cultural knowledge learning and pays equal attention to military and political education. It not only ensures that every student can finish college studies with excellent grades, but also uses spare time to cultivate students' basic military and political quality in advance from the details of ideological and political education, housekeeping, queue and physical fitness, thus shortening the adaptation process of students to the army after graduation.

In addition to learning their required courses well, national defense students have also set up 13 excellent courses for national defense students, such as Introduction to Military Law, Military Psychology, Introduction to People's Army, Basic Military Skills, National Defense Construction, and Army Grass-roots Culture. In view of the special situation that this school is one of the universities that implemented the complete credit system earlier, the school has incorporated military and political training courses into the school teaching system, and the school's academic affairs office has uniformly assigned teaching tasks, arranged, managed and assessed teaching hours, and the assessment results have been included in the overall evaluation results of the school this semester. For this alone, the school will pay an extra 50 thousand yuan every year. The teaching of this course mainly relies on the teachers and teaching strength of Xi University of Technology and makes full use of school resources. Some courses are undertaken by the moral education department, the military teaching and research department and the armed forces department. There is a shortage of military teachers in schools. The Personnel Department, the Academic Affairs Office and the Student Affairs Office should recruit teachers from the society, or hire teachers from military schools, scientific research institutes or related professional units for a long time. The teaching method is mainly classroom teaching, and other forms of activities such as discussion, discussion, watching related publicity and education films, and going out to visit are arranged appropriately. The school establishes the curriculum files of military and political training and education for national defense students. Those who fail the exam (assessment) must make up the exam within four years. If the make-up exam is still unqualified, it will be handled according to the relevant regulations of the school. A three-party assessment system is implemented for teaching teachers, that is, students, schools and training centers jointly assess and dismiss unqualified teachers.

In order to give national defense students a better learning, training and living environment, the school has opened a reading area for national defense students in the library, and allocated 200,000 yuan each year to buy military books for national defense students and military enthusiasts to study; In the case of tight accommodation conditions in Jinhua campus, it is convenient to provide centralized accommodation for national defense students. Organize students to report their thoughts and departments' assessment regularly, pay attention to students' difficulties in time, master students' ideological trends, and actively do a good job in students' regular ideological work. Naval defense students have lived up to the expectations of leaders and naval forces. They have played an exemplary role in study, life and training. 70% of the students' academic performance ranks in the forefront of the department, and 98% of the students submitted their application for joining the party to the organization. Compared with ordinary college students, they are a little more mature and steady, and a little more military temperament. Since the first batch of national defense students, many top professional students have been taken over by national defense students. They have a solid foundation, strong learning ability and excellent professional knowledge. While achieving excellent results, we have also improved our abilities in all aspects. Scholarships abound, and there are countless people who have won the honorary title of "three good students". There are countless outstanding league members, outstanding party member, outstanding young volunteers and outstanding student cadres. Dong Hao, Zhao Qiang, etc. 15 national defense students have excellent academic performance, remarkable training results and positive thoughts, and were awarded the titles of "Excellent National Defense Student Model" and "Excellent National Defense Student" by the Political Department of the Navy. Excellent professional foundation and unambiguous military theory. The national defense students of Polytechnic University carry forward the school spirit of "unity, diligence, truth-seeking and innovation" while doing well their own professional courses, and actively participate in Shaanxi Province, national challenge cup, electronic contest, mathematical modeling contest, national english contest for college students, etc., and have achieved certain results.

Of the 55 national defense students in Grade 04 of Xi University of Technology, 54 applied for postgraduate courses, accounting for 98%. Third, in order to solve the problem of inconvenient professional management of national defense students, the school has solved the office and accommodation rooms for the staff of Jinhua and Qujiang campuses, and specially vacated the national defense students' dormitories for centralized accommodation and unified management.

The dormitory has become a small military camp for national defense students. The naval training department of the school has formulated the detailed rules for quantitative assessment of interior hygiene, requiring national defense students to clean up every day and check every Sunday to ensure that the dormitory is clean and tidy and cultivate a good interior style. In order to increase the collective cohesion of national defense students, increase their knowledge and exercise the organization and command ability of the backbone of national defense students, schools and training institutes should organize national defense students to visit the patriotic education bases such as Zhang Xueliang's residence, the Eighth Route Army office and the Martyrs Cemetery every year to receive patriotic ideological education and cultivate the patriotic sentiments of the majority of national defense students. Military training is only the first step for national defense students to enter the military camp. They need to take the second step steadily-sailing practice. Xi University of Technology 104 naval defense students, under the arrangement of the naval headquarters, carried out maritime internships in two batches last year and August this year, and experienced the maritime training of naval forces personally.

A working organization led by Fu Youming, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of our school, and Gao Yong, vice president, was set up in this summer's maritime internship, which is fully responsible for the leadership of the maritime internship. During the sea voyage, the national defense students set out from Qingdao Port to Guzhengkou Military Port, and then returned to the Navy Pier 5. Visited Guzhengkou military port, guided missile destroyer, military history museum of our first destroyer, warship simulation training center, conventional power 33 torpedo submarine, crew quarters and training ground of the second submarine detachment, and conducted chemical defense drills and flag-raising ceremony at sea. On August 17, after boarding the "9 1 1" ship, all the teachers and students, led by the officers and men on board, visited the important battle positions on board, such as the podium, the flight deck, the tank depot and the engine room, and got a preliminary understanding of the equipment, structure, functions and basic knowledge of navigation on board. In the practice of navigation, national defense students also learned the basic knowledge of naval military, navigation knowledge, the same regulations and warship regulations, and accepted the education of naval mission, glorious tradition and hard struggle. They formed a volunteer kitchen team to help the cooking team cook and clean, and experience the life of sailors personally. On the night of the military port, all the teachers, students and officers gathered together, and the versatile national defense students expressed their love for the cause of coastal defense and their blessings to the motherland. In the process of maritime practice, the vast number of party member national defense students have expressed that they have more clearly defined their heavy responsibilities. After returning to school, they should further correct their learning attitude, broaden their knowledge, lay a solid ideological and professional foundation for better and faster adaptation to the construction of naval forces, strengthen their sense of responsibility and national defense, set strict demands on themselves with high standards of military personnel, and contribute their own strength to the coastal defense of the motherland.
