Jin 'aota was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, with a history of more than 360 years. During Wanli Ding Nian (AD 1597), some gentlemen and scholars thought that Dongguan County was surrounded by famous mountains and rivers on the south, north and east, and it was appropriate to build pagodas on the west, "to observe its scenery, to show its beauty, to make up for the weakness of the virtual town, and to take pictures of its vastness." Weng Zhuang, a county magistrate in Dongguan, got his wish and raised funds to build it. It took 27 years to complete in Jiazi year of Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1264).

The pagoda is 50.6 meters high, with an octagonal body, exquisite arches on each side and stone steps leading to the top of the tower. It is a nine-story (nine-level pagoda) attic classical tower masonry building. Each floor has tiny overhangs, which gradually decrease from bottom to top. The proportion of income and points is appropriate, the shape is light and graceful, the style is simple and atmospheric, and there is no charm and gorgeous meaning. There is a small iron tower at the top, which is not only used for lightning protection, but also shows a delicate front.

In the second year of Qingganlong (AD 1337), that is, more than 1 10 years after its completion, the tower was hit by a typhoon and was in danger of collapse. Yin, the magistrate of a county, and Lin Huafeng, the county, donated silver 1540 Liang and spent labor 18260 Liang to rebuild the pagoda, making it "twice as strong as before." Although the Feng Shui scriptures of feudal gentlemen are not credible, they are also "effective" after the pagoda is completed, and the literary talent in the city is prosperous and enduring. In addition to the top scholar, there are many talented people, such as second place, flower detective, Jinshi and Juren. Before liberation, Minglun Hall was set up in the county town to reward those who are willing to study, and the style of study is more prosperous.

Jin Ao Ancient Pagoda is one of the few cultural relics preserved in our city. Its superb skills and traditional art are the crystallization of the hard work and wisdom of our people. It has gone through a long period of time and withstood the tests of numerous strong winds, bad water and thunderstorms.
