In the years of exploration and practice in running a school, the school has been carrying out a concept from beginning to end, that is, facing the social needs and the local economy, and cultivating practical and skilled talents who can be used and retained. On this basis, the school has gradually formed its own clear orientation of running a higher vocational school: that is, with the goal of cultivating practical skilled talents with strong foundation, strong skills and high quality, with the aim of "facing the market, keeping close to posts, serving the society and running a characteristic", with employment as the guidance, highlighting the teaching concept of "taking morality as the foundation, appropriate theory, strengthening skills and attaching importance to practice" and comprehensively promoting the teaching reform.
In order to achieve the goal of talent training in our college, in teaching, the school has implemented the "1+2" talent training program, that is, "major+vocational skills+modern technology", which requires students to skillfully use computer operation technology and multimedia network technology on the basis of firmly mastering professional theory and obtain vocational-related skills certificates. The "1+2" talent training program closely focuses on the talent training goal of "strong foundation, strong skills and high quality", advocates the close combination of theory and practice on the basis of sufficient theoretical knowledge, and pays attention to strengthening students' vocational skills training. In order to cooperate with the implementation of the "1+2" talent training plan, the school also promotes the "double certificate system" for students' graduation, that is, "graduation certificate+skill certificate". Students are required to obtain at least two skills certificates when they graduate. For example, Putonghua proficiency certificate, CET-4 certificate and computer grade certificate. The major of secretarial and office automation requires students to take a driver's license test.
In the past two years, in order to meet the urgent demand for skilled personnel in various industries, the school timely adjusted the "double certificate system" to "academic certificate+vocational qualification certificate". At the same time, the teaching plan of related majors has been revised, which actively creates conditions for students to obtain professional qualification certificates related to this major, strengthens contact and cooperation with the labor department, and expands the scope for students to obtain professional qualification certificates. In order to better and accurately locate students' career choices, the school took the lead in launching a high-tech "CETTIC professional quality evaluation system" in the province, which played a scientific guiding role in students' future career development direction. Computer application technology, project cost management, secretarial and office automation were identified as "teaching reform pilot majors" at the school level. In the pilot major, the relevant content of vocational qualification examination is taken as the teaching content. Before graduation, students will take the vocational qualification certificate examination organized by Shandong Province respectively, and obtain the vocational qualification certificate or equivalent certificate at the same time as the graduation certificate. For example, the professional level certificate of Shandong engineering cost professionals in engineering cost management major; "Microcomputer system maintainer", "programmer" and "network administrator" of computer application technology specialty; "Operator" of secretarial and office automation majors.
The school has always taken adapting to the needs of social and economic development as its purpose. What kind of talents the society needs, what kind of talents the school trains, and what kind of majors the school offers because of the broad employment market for graduates. On the basis of full investigation and demonstration of Yantai's local social economy and talent market demand, our school has set up a number of popular majors such as project cost management, e-commerce, advertising and decoration design. Graduates of these majors often have multiple jobs to choose from when they are employed, and the employment rate is relatively high. Among them, engineering cost, advertising, decoration design and other professionals are relatively in a fault period in Yantai's employment market, and there is a shortage of specialists. Graduates are often snapped up by employers before graduation.
The school founded the Journal of Yantai Institute of Education, which is distributed to the public at home and abroad to provide teaching and academic research posts for faculty and staff. In view of the obvious scientific research level of teachers in our school, at present, more than a dozen teachers in our school are undertaking 1 1 provincial and municipal key scientific research projects, such as the research on cultivating college students' innovative ability, practical ability and entrepreneurial spirit, the research on the influence of the Internet on school education, and the research on the evaluation system of adult higher education.
Yantai Institute of Education is expanding its school scale, pursuing high-quality and high-level development in accordance with the newly formulated "Tenth Five-Year Plan", continuing to be oriented by higher vocational education and aiming at quality service, and striving to establish a first-class college.
