What kind of landscape talents are enterprises looking for (fresh graduates must see)

From more than 200 architectural landscape design companies in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other major cities, the reporter interviewed the recruitment leaders of several companies.
Enterprises are thirsty for talents, and it is difficult to recruit senior talents. Leo, CEO Leo Lagoo China Network Company, an industry website specializing in architectural landscape design, told reporters that due to the macro-control policy of real estate, the employment demand of architectural landscape design companies has shrunk compared with previous years, but overall, the market is still expanding, and overseas companies, joint ventures and private enterprises are increasing day by day, so the demand for talents in the whole industry is in good condition. At this job fair, some positions in the enterprise are in urgent need of supplementary personnel. Judging from the recruitment situation, it is difficult to find suitable talents. A joint venture company recruited a landscape project manager, but failed to find a suitable candidate for half a year. Another overseas company has a similar experience: recruiting the head of the landscape design department. Three months have passed and the recruitment is still in progress.
The reporter learned that overseas design, consulting companies or joint ventures generally favor senior talents with more than 5 years of work experience. Some short-term middle and senior positions, such as project leader, need at least 10 years of work experience. Such talents are hard to recruit. Ms. Chen, the person in charge of recruitment of Canadian Architectural Design Co., Ltd., said that the company needs more than 1 year working experience to recruit design assistants, more than 4 years working experience for architects and more than1year working experience for project managers. The brain drain rate of 1-2 years working experience is very high, and the brain drain rate of 10 years working experience is very stable. Their general annual salary is 200,000-300,000 yuan, and there is not much difference in the salary of senior talents in different companies in this industry. Therefore, senior talents are reluctant to jump ship, and recruitment is very difficult. It is common for a position to fail to recruit people for half a year.
Practical talents are favored, and it is not easy for fresh graduates to enter the industry. Just because an enterprise can't recruit people doesn't mean there are no job seekers in the market. In fact, the supply of talents is not small. Ms. Chen said that since the company issued the job advertisement, it has received more than a dozen resumes of fresh graduates or newcomers with 1 year work experience every day, but they generally do not meet the requirements, hoping to gain something at the online job fair. The reporter learned that contrary to the law of recruiting fresh graduates by large companies in other industries, the architectural landscape design industry is generally "pragmatic", favoring experienced practical talents and not inclined to recruit fresh graduates. Mr. Huang, the personnel manager of Australia and Asia Landscape Architects in Canada, told the reporter that the company needs more high-end landscape design and plant design talents, and outstanding fresh graduates can consider it. Ms. Chen also said that companies generally do not consider hiring fresh graduates. Unless they are particularly excellent, they can consider internships or trials.
Why are recent graduates unpopular? Ms. Feng, the person in charge of recruitment of yabang Planning and Design Co., Ltd., said that the characteristics of talents in the construction industry are "high threshold, low start, slow growth and great mobility, and the older they are, the more valuable they are". It takes at least six months to 1 year for fresh graduates who only have theoretical knowledge but lack practical experience to enter the company. It takes a long time to train talents in this industry, and it takes five years to become a competitive talent. Moreover, the turnover rate of industry personnel is high, so even large companies are reluctant to train fresh graduates. Therefore, although it is at the peak of job hunting for fresh graduates at the end of the year, the supply and demand of talents in the industry are booming, and it is difficult for enterprises to effectively "dock" with talents, and the success rate of matching is low. Open the channel for fresh graduates and pay attention to three aspects of quality. Although most companies don't like fresh graduates, this job fair still provides a certain number of positions for fresh graduates.
In terms of employment channels for fresh graduates, dozens of small and medium-sized companies have launched various basic positions, and some overseas companies have also launched internship or trial positions. Mr. Huang of Australia-Asia Landscape Architects in Canada said that if there are outstanding fresh graduates who are willing to give him internship opportunities, general architectural landscape design interns can become full members after a period of internship. Yabang Planning & Design Company also indicated that excellent graduates have job opportunities for assistant positions. Some private and university design institutes also favor graduates. It is not easy for fresh graduates to enter this industry, so how to enter the "eyes" of recruiters?
Generally speaking, companies value three qualities:
First of all, pay attention to the work rather than relying absolutely on the results. Design companies require job seekers to speak in terms of "works", not their academic performance at school. This is because design requires practical ability and the ability to turn ideas into detailed drawings and words, and only excellent achievements are not enough to reflect these abilities. Applicants need to give their works at school, or the interviewer will put forward the design scheme on the spot, so that candidates can give the design scheme.
Secondly, pay attention to work experience rather than education. Recruitment in this industry believes in "experience is king". If an undergraduate with two years' work experience and a graduate apply at the same time, the enterprise will not hesitate to recruit the former. Whether you are a newly graduated returnee, a master's degree or a doctor's degree, you need to start from the basic position. For inexperienced returnees, the recruitment of enterprises is more cautious. On the one hand, the salary demanded by returnees is high, on the other hand, the architectural concept of returnees may not meet the needs of domestic projects. In addition, the recruitment treats talents equally in education, gender and region, but landscape design candidates are mostly women, while environmental art and architectural design are mostly men.
Third, value character and character. Honesty is the most basic character requirement put forward by most companies. For the application works submitted by candidates, the company will invite the chief engineer to participate in the interview to judge the authenticity of the works or the proportion of participating in the collective works. In addition, any architectural landscape design project is the result of teamwork. In the process of each project, designers will discuss and demonstrate the scheme, so enterprises need candidates with gentle personality and good communication and interpersonal skills. Local employees of some overseas companies need to communicate with Hong Kong and foreign employees, and also have higher requirements for graduates' oral English writing.
Related information: Recently, most of the "high temperature" jobs in landscape design are in design consulting companies, and there are not a few development and construction companies, involving overseas, joint ventures and private enterprises, among which there are many well-known design companies from Japan, Europe, America and China, such as Atkins Group, Aishu Architectural Planning and Design Consulting, Germany ECS Architectural Planning Co., Ltd., Urbis Wonder Landscape Design Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Aishu Architectural Planning. Popular positions include planning designer, landscape designer, architectural designer, electrical engineer, drawing review engineer and file management.
The increasingly fierce competition in the real estate market has put forward higher requirements for design companies, and the requirements for talents have also risen. The basic position of landscape designer assistant requires bachelor degree or above in landscape design, good communication skills, strong team spirit, solid artistic foundation, and proficient use of 3DMAX, AUTOCAD, PHOTOSHOP and other related software. Good personality, strong learning ability, enthusiastic and dedicated work, can bear hardships and stand hard work. For several "high temperature" jobs that are in short supply, the requirements are even higher.
1, Senior Landscape Architect According to the recruitment requirements, enterprises are eager for talents with more than 5 years of work experience, and generally provide an annual salary of more than 654.38+10,000 yuan. Some landscape design project managers need to have more than 65,438+00 years' working experience. Excellent project working experience, professional knowledge of landscaping design, study of architecture and planning, and overseas design company or study abroad experience and working background are preferred.
2. Most architectural design companies recruit talents with more than 5 years working experience. It is required to have the ability to independently complete the local design of a project, have rich construction experience, and be able to closely link design with construction. Good team spirit, professional title qualification and study abroad background, working experience in foreign-funded companies is preferred.
3. Professional plant designer job seekers must first have a master's degree in plant design and landscape architecture in domestic universities and have 5-8 years of plant design experience; Familiar with domestic common tree species, know the characteristics of plants in the north and south, have high aesthetic vision and plant layout design ability, know plant scheme design and overall effect control, and have design ability. It is understood that because overseas companies don't understand the local plant characteristics and climate, local plant designers can better show their advantages in overseas companies.
