Employment situation of manufacturing industry in Jiaxing city
In 2007, the number of employees in the city was 2.888 million, an increase of14.77 million over the previous year, of which the manufacturing industry increased by1656,000. There are 648,000 employees in cities and towns, including 336,000 in manufacturing.
New jobs and human resources in urban areas, 45% of new jobs are obtained by fresh graduates (graduates come from local and foreign universities, junior colleges, technical secondary schools, vocational schools and high school students); 35% was obtained by employees of former enterprises and institutions, and 20% was obtained by migrant workers and veterans.
Jiaxing currently has 8 universities, 19 secondary specialized schools and technical schools.
