Shanghai Tianyou Hospital is the first mixed general hospital in Shanghai founded by Tongji University according to the standards of tertiary hospitals. 1997, the former teaching building of Shanghai Railway University was named "God Blessed Building" in memory of Zhan Tianyou, the father of Chinese railways. In 2000, the former Shanghai Railway University was merged into Tongji University; 20 13 Tongji University established the first comprehensive hospital with innovative system in Shanghai with "Tianyou Building" as the main body, and named it "Shanghai Tianyou Hospital" according to the third-class first-class standard, and planned to build "Tianyou Hospital affiliated to Tongji University"; On March 30th, 20 15, Shanghai Tianyou Hospital was formally established. Pei Gang, then president of Tongji University and academician of China Academy of Sciences, attended the unveiling ceremony and delivered a speech. Tianyou Hospital is determined to inherit and carry forward the "artisan spirit" left by Zhan Tianyou, a pioneer, with the motto of "honesty as the foundation and excellent doctors for the people". Now it is an international JCI certified hospital, a designated medical insurance unit in Shanghai, a civilized unit in Putuo District, a member unit of Taopu Health, and a resident unit of Shanghai 120 Emergency Center. In August 2020, it was approved as "Internet Hospital".
