Check-in guide:
The first stop is Lucheng Gate, the inner city of Liangzhu Ancient City.
The ancient city of Liangzhu was built on swamp wetlands, with a dense network of rivers and a developed water system. It looks like a water city. The Lucheng Gate here is also the only land transportation channel among the eight Shuicheng Gates and one Lucheng Gate currently found in the city site area. The three elevated platforms are in the shape of a "pin", and the continuous wall is divided into four doorways with a width of 150m. You can imagine how grand and spectacular it was back then. The inner city area can be accessed through a wide doorway.
The second stop is the Shuicheng Gate in the inner city of Liangzhu Ancient City.
The city gates are distributed on all four sides of the city wall, two on each side of the city wall. The rivers inside and outside the city are connected by sluices, forming an internal and external water network and a waterway transportation system. The sluice is generally 30-60 meters wide. On both sides of the Water Gate, the imitation wooden pillars stand as a demonstration of the location and width of the Water Gate in the park.
Excavation site of the south city wall of Station 3
The city wall of Liangzhu Ancient City was discovered in 2007. The city wall takes advantage of the natural topography, with the bottom being 20-40 cm thick stone and the upper part being yellow clay accumulated from the mountain. The total length is 6km, the width is 40-60m, and the well-preserved section is about 4m high, which can not only strengthen the foundation, but also prevent groundwater from eroding the wall. The color of the soil on the wall is clearly divided into ridges, indicating that the piles of soil on the wall come from different places. This method of using yellow mud to build stones and walls is the first of its kind among contemporary heritage sites in the world.
The Fourth Stop Wetland Yingcheng Exhibition Hall
Archaeological Research
Archaeological research has proved that there are 20 artificial terraces in the ancient city of Liangzhu, which are handicraft workshops, indicating that this place There used to be craftsmen engaged in handicrafts. In addition, a large number of animal and plant remains were discovered in the ancient city. Archaeological research shows that the eating habits of Liangzhu ancestors five thousand years ago are very close to the habits of today's Jiangnan water towns. Visitors can also experience the craftsmanship of 5,000-year-old craftsmen here.
The sixth stop is Sanzhi Observation Deck
Zhishan is a natural mountain with an altitude of more than 30 meters, located in the northeast corner of Liangzhu Ancient City. It is an important part of the city wall, connecting the east wall and the north wall. Corresponding to Pheasant Mountain is Fengshan, located in the southwest corner of the city wall. Together with Pheasant Mountain, they form the two commanding heights of the ancient city. The organic integration of two natural mountains and artificial walls demonstrates the outstanding urban planning capabilities of Liangzhu ancestors.
Station 7 Palace Area
Go through the Pheasant Observation Deck, sneak between the east wall and the north wall, and walk to Jiaomo Mountain Station. This is one of the gold medal check-in spots in the park. Five thousand years ago, the palace area was here.
Mojiaoshan Platform is located in the center of the ancient city. The platform is more than 10 meters high, about 630 meters long from east to west, about 450 meters wide from north to south, and covers an area of ??about 0.3 square kilometers. The earthwork volume is as high as 2.28 million cubic meters. There is no discontinuity between the soil layers of the platform, indicating that the platform should have been built in a short period of time.
At the same time, there are three mounds of soil on the top of the high platform. They are Dashajiao Mountain, Xiaomojiao Mountain and Wugui Mountain. In the middle of the three earth platforms, there is a 70,000-square-meter sand square. Standing on the platform of Jiao Mo Mountain and looking around, there is a feeling that "the city is under control".
Station 8, large wood carvings
More than 10 large wooden components more than 10 meters long were found on the Zhongjiagang Ancient Road east of the Mojiao Mountain Palace, most of which were processed smoothly. According to archaeological speculation, this area was probably a wharf for transporting wood and other materials to Jiaomo Mountain, as well as a processing plant that provided wood components for palace construction.
The ninth stop, Mojiao Mountain Academy
Going down the corridor from Dajiao Mo Mountain, you will arrive at Jiao Mo Mountain Academy. The academy is located at the Hecun Service Point and is a non-profit public welfare place. Here, tourists can read books, experience pottery, etc. between trips. At the same time, the college also provides comprehensive supporting services such as coffee and light meals.
Stop 10: Fanshan Mausoleum
Fanshan Mausoleum is located northwest of Jiaomoshan Palace, across a river, but it was the place arranged for himself by the "King of Liangzhu" after his death during the Liangzhu period.
Fanshan Cemetery is divided into two rows, the north and the south. More than 1,200 sets of burial jade, stone, ivory, jade-inlaid lacquerware, pottery, etc. were unearthed. Analysis of the arrangement position, specifications, quantity and type of funerary objects can reflect the status and gender of the tomb owner during his lifetime.
The tomb No. 12 in the middle of the south row has the highest grade, and the tomb No. 20 in the north row has the highest grade. Tombs No. 2 and 23 unearthed jade emperors and jade textile tools that identified women, but no jade or stones representing military strength were found. It is speculated that the owner of the tomb should be a woman. The rest of the tomb owners are all men.
Tomb No. 12 is located in the center of the cemetery. It is the highest-level Yishan Tomb and has the richest burial objects. *** 658 pieces were unearthed, including 647 jade articles. The largest jade cong and jade ax unearthed so far represent divine power and military power respectively, proving the respected status and supreme power of the tomb owner.
