Li Bofan's Early Experience

Li Bofan studied medicine with his grandparents and father since childhood. He only entered the Niujing United Clinic in Binchuan County 1958. 1960, Li Bofan followed his father Li Zikuan to work in the traditional Chinese medicine department of Binchuan County People's Hospital.

1963, Li Bofan, who was in his early twenties, was sent to Raoyi Township, the most remote poverty-stricken mountainous area in Binchuan County, to practice medicine in villages deep in the mountains to save people. Together with the local villagers, he established Raowu Health Center, and dedicated the best 10 year of his life selflessly to the minority people in mountainous areas.

1982, Binchuan was stirred by the spring breeze of the Hengyang meeting of the Ministry of Health "Inheriting and Carrying Forward Traditional Chinese Medicine in an All-round Way". Li Bofan, then vice president of the County People's Hospital, put forward the idea of establishing Binchuan County Chinese Medicine Hospital, which was approved by the county government. With the approval of the organization, Li Bofan became the president of the county traditional Chinese medicine hospital and embarked on the course of establishing the county traditional Chinese medicine hospital from scratch.
