Why don't village doctors in many places in Guizhou Province recruit nursing majors?

Many local village doctors in Guizhou Province may not recruit nursing majors for the following reasons:

1. The characteristics of nursing specialty do not match the work of village doctors: village doctors are mainly primary medical care and health management, and need to have basic medical knowledge and skills. However, the nursing major mainly focuses on nursing technology and management, and has little knowledge about chronic disease management, first aid, diagnosis and treatment, which is different from the work of village doctors.

2. Limited resources of village doctors: The resources of village doctors in mountainous areas of Guizhou Province are relatively limited. In order to provide basic medical services, priority is given to recruiting people with medical background. Because nursing students mainly cultivate medical nursing technology and management, rather than medical background, village doctors may not give priority to nursing graduates in recruitment.

3. The training and recruitment of rural doctors usually focus on basic medical skills and pay more attention to practicality and rapid application. The training process of nursing specialty is relatively long, and the training time may not be enough to meet the needs of village doctors. Village doctors may prefer to recruit people with medical background or clinical experience to ensure that villagers can get basic medical services.

However, it should be noted that in recent years, the rural doctors in Guizhou Province are facing some new challenges, such as brain drain and service quality. Therefore, how to improve the comprehensive quality and medical service ability of village doctors, including the combination of nursing specialty and village doctors' work, is also a problem worthy of further consideration and research.
