According to the report, up to now, there are four coal-based natural gas projects that have been put into operation in China, namely, Datang Inner Mongolia Keqi 4 billion cubic meters/year coal-based natural gas demonstration project, Inner Mongolia Huineng/KLOC-0.6 billion cubic meters/year coal-based natural gas demonstration project, Xinjiang Qinghua 5.5 billion cubic meters/year coal-based natural gas demonstration project and Yili Xintian 2 billion cubic meters/year coal-based natural gas demonstration project.

Although the main project of coal-to-natural gas project can be built by stages, some infrastructure, such as power engineering, safety and environmental protection engineering, need to be built before the main project. Therefore, except for the Xintian project in Yili, the actual investment of these coal-to-gas projects has reached two-thirds of the total investment, but only one-third of the production capacity has been built.

At present, the total production capacity of the four coal-to-gas projects that have been put into operation is 5 1 100 million cubic meters per year, and the total output in the first half of this year is only10.6 billion cubic meters, accounting for only 21%of the total production capacity; Since the coal-based natural gas was put into production, the actual average output is only about 50% of the production capacity. However, it is not easy to put the second and third phases of the project into operation as soon as possible.
