Selection and recruitment of airport special police team

Select test, select

During the period of 1997, the Airport Security Team held the last recruitment before the Hong Kong International Airport moved to Chek Lap Kok. The application procedure includes a one-day selection test and a three-day selection, which mainly tests the team spirit, leadership, confidence in overcoming difficulties under pressure, confidence in using various weapons, intelligence and basic physical fitness of candidates. Physical fitness is limited in the selection, and the requirements are only above average; At that time, the examiner mainly explored potential candidates. After the candidates successfully passed the selection and joined the airport security team, they were arranged to accept the gradual professional sports development and physical fitness improvement plan.

Basic Training Class

Successful candidates will enter an eight-week Basic Training Course sponsored by the airport security team, and some projects will be provided by the task force, VIP protection group, explosive ordnance disposal section, police search team, police negotiation team and auxiliary medical service.

Continuous training

Only those who successfully pass all the above stages can become full members. From now on, personnel are required to carry out physical and tactical training half an hour before duty every day (10 hour) and receive comprehensive special training every Monday. When the personnel have accumulated certain experience, they will be arranged to receive various professional trainings. Because in the past, the airport special police unit and the special service company were recruited separately, so interested personnel could not participate in the recruitment held by both sides at the same time because of the time conflict, so the two units might miss potential personnel. Since 200 1, the special warfare company and the airport special police team have jointly organized a recruitment plan, which saves repeated selection time and training resources, is conducive to the internal manpower allocation between units, attracts more people to apply for the exam, and provides more special police development opportunities for candidates over 80 to 1 10 every year. By 20 13, members of the anti-terrorist special forces also joined the joint recruitment plan.

interview

Applicants for joining the airport special police team must have at least three years of experience, good service record and good eyesight, and have been stationed in the police tactical unit during their own service. Priority is given to personnel of active service secret service company, anti-terrorism secret service team, tracking support team, VIP protection team and witness protection team. After the supervisor recommends, the candidate will be interviewed, including understanding the candidate's motivation, courage, personality and understanding of terrorist organizations.
