Wuxi section of Yantai-Wuxi intercity railway

Previously, the Taixi-1 Intercity Railway Planning Research, led by the Provincial Railway Office and compiled by the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Wuxi Railway Office and Jiangyin Municipal Government, has passed the evaluation of the provincial expert group. The direction of Taixiyi Intercity Railway is Taizhou-Taixing-Jingjiang-Jiangyin-Wuxi-Changzhou-Yixing, in which the length of Taizhou section is about 75 kilometers, and the railway grade is positioned as Class I double track. The speed target value is initially set at 250 km/h, and the EMU runs. After it is completed, it only takes about half an hour to get to Wuxi by train.

Jiangsu Provincial Government has agreed to include Yantai-Yi Xi Intercity in the 20 15 construction investment plan.

On the afternoon of May 8, 20 15, the provincial government held a provincial railway work conference in Nanjing. The meeting was presided over by Vice Governor Xu Ming, and Executive Vice Governor Li Yunfeng made an important speech. According to the relevant requirements of the state to strengthen investment in key areas and speed up railway construction, combined with the construction investment plan of China Railway Corporation, the provincial government decided to speed up a new round of railway construction in our province, providing strong support for "going to a new level and building a new Jiangsu".

The meeting issued the provincial railway construction investment plan for 20 15 years, and the Yantai-Yi Xi intercity railway project was listed as a reserve project. Yantai-Yi Xi Intercity Railway connects Shanghai-Nanjing Line and Ning Hang Line, crosses the Yangtze River and runs through the north and south of Jiangsu, which is an important opportunity to build Wuxi into a regional central city in the Yangtze River Delta. At the same time, the Yantai-Yi Xi intercity railway conforms to the development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, connecting Jiangyin, Huishan and Yixing in series, which is an important link between the integration of Xicheng and the urbanization of Yi Xi, and can realize the direct railway passage from Yixing to Shanghai and Jiangyin to Wuxi to Hangzhou.

Yantai-Yi Xi intercity railway is of great significance to the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the modernization demonstration in southern Jiangsu, coastal development and other national strategies, and will have a great impact on the development of Wuxi, Taizhou and other regions. In the second half of last year, our city, together with Taizhou Municipal Government, studied the planning and construction of Yantai-Yi Xi intercity railway and jointly reported it to the provincial government. At this meeting, the provincial government agreed to incorporate the Yantai-Yi Xi intercity railway project into the 20 15 construction investment plan, with an estimated total investment of about 29 billion yuan and a construction period of 20 17-20 19. The official launch of the pre-feasibility study marks that the Yantai-Yi Xi intercity railway project has entered a substantive start-up stage.
