Tianjin University Translation Postgraduate Entrance Examination Experience Sharing?

Personal introduction: I am an ordinary English major. TEM-4 is very good, and my English major has passed TEM-8. I have a CATTI three-level translation certificate and won a scholarship from the university. Besides, I don't have any achievements in major competitions, and I have no internship experience. The postgraduate entrance examination score is 395, ranking 1 1.

About choosing a school:

Choosing a school should consider both subjective and objective factors. Personal factors include: personal professional strength and ideal will. Objective factors include: the enrollment ratio of colleges and universities, the number of students enrolled, the city where they are located, the difficulty of the examination questions, the proportion of initial examination and re-examination, and so on. As an English major, I deeply felt the unique charm of the English language after four years of English learning experience, so I narrowed my goals to three categories at the beginning of the postgraduate entrance examination: foreign languages and literature, translation and subject English. The reason why I finally chose to prepare for the exam translation is because the undergraduate translation course is very lively and interesting, and a good tutor shared a lot of relevant knowledge in the translation field with us. Therefore, I became more interested in translation and had the idea of becoming a professional interpreter, so I resolutely chose to prepare for translation.

I am an undergraduate student, and I wanted to go to the next level when I took the postgraduate entrance examination, so I focused on 985 when I chose schools for the postgraduate entrance examination. In addition, I am a northerner, and my future work and life will be dominated by the north, so the scope of choosing a school is not large. It is too difficult to get into a good 985 college in Beijing. After evaluating my own situation, I felt that it was unlikely to be admitted, so I decided to focus on Tianjin. There are two 985 schools in Tianjin. For arts students, Nankai should be more attractive. However, to sum up the postgraduate entrance examinations for masters of translation in Nankai and Tianda in recent two years, firstly, because MTI majors in Nankai are all interpreters, Tianda is divided into interpretation classes and translation classes after admission. Personally, I am not good at reading. Secondly, the enrollment quota of Nankai is not as big as that of Tianda, so the chances of being admitted to Tianda are much greater than that of Nankai. Then brush the experience post to compare the basic situation of Tianda University and Senior Four with my own, such as the certificate competition, and feel that I can get in with my basic efforts. I also bought a real question, learned about the style of the question, found that the difficulty was moderate, and the question type was quite suitable for me, so I almost decided to take the exam. After I really confirmed that the college I applied for was Tianjin University, I never thought about wavering. After landing, I thought my decision was very correct. Now the postgraduate entrance examination situation is getting more and more sad every year, and it is particularly difficult to master it. Therefore, when choosing a school, friends who want to go ashore must carefully evaluate their personal situation and choose the institution that suits them. It is no exaggeration to say that whether you can go ashore is a question of choosing more than trying.

Master of Translation English

The examination form of this subject in Tianjin University is 20 multiple-choice questions with 20 points (including vocabulary discrimination and grammar), 10 for correcting mistakes 10 for correcting mistakes (the stems of the questions are directly marked with wrong options), 4 reading questions, 5 options in the first three articles, 5 short answers in the last one, 2 points for each question, totaling 40 points, and finally 30 points for the composition questions.

Multiple-choice question: The topic is relatively simple as a whole, and it is probably difficult to specialize in eight. I just mastered the common topic of April 8, and I have no experience to say in this part, just memorize more and practice more. Memorizing words is simple, but it doesn't play a big role in vocabulary analysis, so we must consolidate our understanding of this topic by doing problems. The exercise problem I used was TEM4 1000, which broke through the English vocabulary 10000.

Correct mistakes: to correct some mistakes, you only need to choose the wrong place, and there are ten long and difficult sentences. In fact, correcting the wrong questions is also a grammar test. In this part, I learned the basic grammar first. It is suggested to choose the grammar textbook first. I used the 1000 question of TEM4. I went through the grammar knowledge as a whole, and then learned GRE long and difficult sentences, mainly to exercise my ability to straighten out the logic of long and difficult sentences. Then practice TEM-4's grammar problems over the years, as well as the three-stroke and two-stroke comprehensive grammar problems. The problem of correcting mistakes is similar to that of outer space. Because Tianda doesn't publish the real questions, the problem of correcting the mistakes of the two strokes is very similar to Tianda, so I often practice. The last exercise is to correct the essence of Spark Basic English, and the difficulty and question type are closest to the real question. I began to learn all the words of Grade 8 in July, except reciting them in May. At the beginning, I will spend more time every day, about 3 hours a day. In the later stage, it will become a simple brushing problem, so I will have less time to study in the later stage.

Reading questions: Tianda's reading questions are very level, characterized by simple words and simple options, which are basically known, but the options feel that everyone is right, so I must do the questions on the basis of a deep understanding of the original text, because I have the habit of reading foreign periodicals, so this part of preparation before September is mainly based on reading foreign periodicals. In September, I began to read for Grade 8, and I did two articles every day, and found the idea of doing the questions to the exam. But be sure to sum up your mistakes, because you chose the wrong thing, don't just brush the questions. Materials: TEM-8 reading 180 articles (Liu Shaolong/World Book Publishing House /202 1 Edition) and sorting out and refining the entrance examination sites for English majors.

Composition topic: The composition part must be written by yourself. I started to prepare this part in June+10, 5438. Through reading and translating foreign periodicals in the early stage, I accumulated current affairs materials and good words and phrases. Then 10 began to practice writing systematically in the middle of October. I will practice writing by using the topics in the composition book "College English Model essay for Band 8 100" (Singh/foreign languages press/first edition in 2009), such as online teaching, entrepreneurship, stress, energy shortage, computers, books and so on. Practice once or twice a week. Pay attention to time and words, and don't work overtime.

Basis of English-Chinese translation

Tianda's test questions are 30 hot words, divided into 15 in Chinese and English, 15 in Chinese and English, 15 in Chinese and English, with one point each; Two English-Chinese translations, totaling about 300 words; Two Chinese-English translations, totaling about 300 words. In terms of the style of topics, Tianda has a wide range of topics. Except for literature in English-Chinese translation in previous years, almost every topic is involved in the following years, with no obvious bias. Therefore, candidates are required to dabble in every subject.

Hot words: Collect and accumulate on the bilingual English site of China Daily every day or every week; At the same time, recite the vocabulary translated by CATTI and the vocabulary of real questions in various schools over the years.

Translation: Translation is the core of mastery and needs long-term continuous practice. Learn to recite the government work report in March and April; From May to September, 10, I started a lot of exercises. You can learn translation skills from the practice of CATTI's three-level translation, and then practice the real questions of each school and the special eight-level real questions, and translate one or two English-Chinese or Chinese-English every day. Be sure to copy and take notes, the translation practice is not good enough. 1 1 When practicing translation, you need to grasp the time.

448 Chinese Writing and Encyclopedia Knowledge Writing

Question types: multiple-choice questions, noun explanation, practical writing, and big composition.

Multiple-choice questions: Because of the wide range of investigation, and the low cost performance of memorizing the question bank and reading the common sense book, it is difficult to take the exam, and the experience posts in previous years also pointed out that this part can not be opened up too much, and each question has only one point, so this year I directly gave up this part of the preparation. I believe my encyclopedia has accumulated haha. My advice to you in this part is, don't recite it. If you are tired of studying, you can read books and do a good job of daily accumulation.

Noun explanation: Reciting the bibliography includes the crazy back of the noun explanation test center, the encyclopedia dictionary of the translation master, and the final gift. This part examines eight definitions of nouns, each with 4 points. Note that this part is very important. In July, I began to recite the explanation part of the yellow book, then the encyclopedia hot words, and finally the hot words and the last gift. Don't recite this part word for word, just remember four points, because each name has only four points, so you can start writing during the exam. The rule of setting questions in Tianda is to test one or two idioms every year, and there are also modern wars, such as this year's test of Fangmou Duduan, the test outline and the battle of Changjin Lake. Idioms have not yet found a good reference book, so they can only be accumulated in peacetime.

Practical writing: The genre of practical writing investigated by Tianda is very extensive, and it is necessary to know the format of each type of practical writing. First, read a textbook for official document writing, and take notes to sort out the format of practical writing; Then collect the actual combat model essays of real questions in various schools over the years and learn formal language; Practice later. From 165438+ 10, I will spend about 40-50 minutes practicing an applied essay every day. For the exercise materials, please refer to Translation Master's Chinese Writing and Encyclopedia Zhenti+Analysis. After each exercise, carefully compare the reference answers, arrange the corresponding format in your notes, and then memorize more notes.

Big composition: pay more attention to current events and accumulate materials. You can buy full marks in the college entrance examination, accumulate arguments and good words, extract good sentences and review them from time to time. The most important thing for a big composition is to write and practice, and keep time. So practice at least 10 before the exam. Political part

August-end of September: I began to study politics in August, and the teaching materials were Xiao Xiurong's Exquisite Lecture and 1000 Question, which cooperated with the video class of intensive classes in Xu Tao. I listen to 1-2 almost every day, and sometimes I don't study politics because of the heavy task of studying other subjects. This stage is mainly to lay the foundation and have a general understanding of all knowledge points. My learning method is: watch the video class first, and make corresponding notes in the book at the same time. After listening to the lesson, carefully review the corresponding book contents in Intensive Reading and Refining, and then do 1000.

10 month: Read Sister Leg's Sprint Reciting Manual 1.5h-2h every day, then brush two questions 1000, and directly mark the wrong questions in the Reciting Manual for later review. This stage is mainly to consolidate knowledge points, and at the same time, check for leaks and fill gaps, especially paying attention to the resumption of wrong questions! In addition, I also watched some videos of leg sister skills class and learned some multiple-choice skills, but I didn't finish watching them because of the heavy tasks in each subject.

165438+1October: Continue to read the sprint recitation manual and review the wrong notes. At the same time, follow the leg sister's strap (highly recommended). There are also multiple-choice questions written by Xiao Xiurong, Sister Leg and Xu Tao, which have been brushed for 2-3 times. At this stage, the key is to thoroughly understand the prediction paper. No matter whether I do it right or wrong in each multiple-choice question, I carefully look at the answer analysis of each question and mark unfamiliar knowledge points for consolidation.

65438+February: Brush Xiao Xiurong's four sets of multiple-choice questions, 2-3 times. At the same time, recite Xiao Si's big questions. At this stage, you need to spend a lot of time reciting big questions every day before you can finish reciting them. The more corpus you accumulate, the more dominant you will be in the examination room. Even if Xiao misses the question greatly, he can fill in the form by reciting it.

For politics, multiple-choice questions are very important and the key to scoring. 1000 multiple-choice questions and forecast papers must be brushed at least twice to understand all the wrong questions. The big questions are really difficult to recite. You can arrange the pictures with the logic arranged by senior Bi Li Bird Mountain, which is easy to understand and remember.

About the second interview:

Due to the epidemic situation, all postgraduate re-examinations are online re-examinations. This year's exam: 377 cinemas this year, 90 people entered the re-examination and 60 people were admitted. Last year, 373,80 people entered the second interview, and 62 people were admitted. The enrollment ratio and score line are relatively stable, and the enrollment ratio is between 1.3- 1.5. Compared with last year, the cinema is five points higher than last year, but there are more than a dozen people who have entered the second interview, and everyone's scores have been compressed, so you can't be sloppy after the initial test. You should carefully prepare for the second interview. Tianda has no pressure, but Tianda belongs to a more prudent institution. This year, 400+ is less than 10, and 390-400 is nearly 20. Therefore, in order to maintain stability, it is best to reach 390+ in the initial test.

Tencent's re-examination conference platform has a waiting room and three re-examination conference rooms. When the teacher in the waiting room calls you, he will give you the password of the corresponding retest meeting room in private, and then wait for the exam in the retest meeting room. The conference room 1 consists of three sections: self-introduction+translation theory+translation appreciation (Chinese-English+English-Chinese+analyzing two versions of a Chinese sentence+commenting on a question). They are all random multiple-choice questions, and the questions are not too difficult. Both are well-known translation theories, and the time for answering them is limited. The teacher won't answer then. Read at least one book on translation theory when preparing for the exam. The second meeting room is English-Chinese+Chinese-English visual translation. The questions are randomly selected and the words are not long. The teacher didn't interrupt during the translation, so I kept translating. I drew a text that is partial to technology. Conference room 3 is news retelling+selecting one or more news items for evaluation, randomly selecting topics, each paragraph is about one minute, and there are three or four paragraphs. The sooner you practice visual translation and listening retelling, the better. I only started practicing listening retelling one week before the second interview, so this part is my worst answer. Fortunately, other parts are well prepared, and the results of the second interview are not too bad. I began to watch visual translation after the Chinese New Year. I have to talk during practice. I can't meditate in my mind. You'd better record what I did wrong. When I can speak the next paragraph correctly, fluently and completely, I can practice.

Write at the end: you should be confident, don't always question yourself, and don't spend time on internal friction. Pay attention to work and rest, young man. Your duty is to level the land, not to worry about time. Time will always give the best answer to those who work hard. Finally, I wish everyone can go ashore! Let's go, let's go.
