Kaishan Holding Group Co., Ltd., the core company of Kaishan Group, was founded in 1956 and has experienced Xinqi Iron Factory, Quxian General Machinery Factory, Quxian Agricultural Machinery Repair and Manufacturing Factory, Quxian Rock Drill Factory, etc. In 1978, due to the successful development of a small pneumatic rock drilling unit that won the second prize of the National Spark Award, it was renamed Quxian Rock Drill Factory. In June 1994, with Quxian Rock Drill Factory as the main body, the joint-stock system transformation was completed, and Zhejiang Kaishan Co., Ltd. was established. In September 1998, the share exchange was completed and the company was restructured into a joint-stock company controlled by private capital. In December 2001, Kaishan Group was established.

Kaishan Group is a large-scale industrial enterprise recognized by the state. It ranks 80th among the top 100 enterprises in China's machinery industry in 2010 and is one of the 164 key enterprises cultivated by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. Its subsidiary Zhejiang Kaishan Compressor Co., Ltd. was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in August 2011 (stock code: 300257).

Kaishan Group owns nearly thirty wholly-owned or holding companies, including Zhejiang Kaishan Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Kaishan Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Kaishan Compressor Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Kaishan Investment Co., Ltd. Among them, Zhejiang Kaishan Kaiwen Screw Machinery Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Wiltek Screw Machinery Co., Ltd. are high-tech enterprises. Kaishan Group has a complete machinery manufacturing system. Its precision machining, heat treatment, high-end casting, precision casting, forging, pressure vessel manufacturing, cutting, grinding, surface coating treatment, extrusion and testing equipment are all world-class.
