Mingguang city is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province, which is managed by Chuzhou City. It is located on the northeast edge of Anhui Province, on the north side of Jianghuai watershed, bordering Xuyi and Sihong in Jiangsu Province in the east, Chuzhou City in the south, Wuhe River in the north and Dingyuan and Fengyang in the west. By 2023, mingguang city will cover a total area of 2,335 square kilometers, and mingguang city will administer 4 streets and 13 towns. Mingguang city has a long history. The Spring and Autumn Period belongs to Wu, and the Warring States Period belongs to Yue. The Three Kingdoms belong to Wei. The Western Jin Dynasty changed Xuzhou Linhuai County. In the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Suining County was established in the old county of Nvshanhu Town.
