Wangjing belongs to several rings in Beijing.

Wangjing belongs to the Northeast Fourth Ring Road and the Northeast Fifth Ring Road. Wangjing is located in the intersection of Beijing's Northeast Fourth Ring Road, Jingmi Road, Northeast Fifth Ring Road and Jingcheng Expressway. Datun in the west, 798 Art District in the south, Laiguangying in the north and Huantie in the east. Wangjing Sub-metropolitan Business Circle is the latest emerging new economic business circle among the three major business circles in Beijing, and it is becoming the "last developing sector" in Beijing by virtue of its core link advantages connecting various mature economic sectors, extensive transportation network system and increasingly mature diversified international business atmosphere. Wangjing area used to be a vegetable field in Guangying Township. In June of the 38th year of the Republic of China (1949), it belonged to the 17th district in the northern suburb of Beiping. 1August, 950, belonging to the 14th district in the northern suburbs. June 1953, belonging to Laiguangying Township (commonly known as Xiaoxiang Township). 1In August, 956, four advanced agricultural production cooperatives, Heping Society (Laiguangying), Wu Si Society (Wali), Bayi Society (Datun) and Guangming Society (Sun Palace), were merged to form the Heping People's Commune, and Wangjing area was subordinate to it.
