Throughput of Zhongshan Port

In 2001, the cargo throughput of Zhongshan Port was 546,400 tons, an increase of 8% over the previous year, surpassing Zhuhai, ranking ninth in China

The cargo throughput in 2002 was 3,704,400 tons tons, an increase of 436,200 tons over 2001, and container throughput reached 547,800 TEUs, an increase of 74,000 TEUs over the previous year, ranking ninth in the country. Among them, the cargo throughput of the Port and Shipping Group Company was 2.172 million tons, and the container throughput was 293,000 TEUs. The cargo throughput of Sinotrans is 1.5324 million tons, and the container throughput is 254,800 TEUs. The container and cargo throughput of both shipping companies increased by more than 15% compared with 2001.

In 2003, the cargo throughput of Zhongshan Port reached 15.01 million tons.

In 2004, the cargo throughput of Zhongshan Port reached 19 million tons, and container transportation was approximately 1.19 million TEUs. Zhongshan City’s container throughput ranked ninth among ports in the country.
