Xiangfu Waterworks is located at Xiangfu Bridge in the north of the city. It was completed and put into operation on 1958, covering an area of 150 mu, with a designed water production capacity of 250,000 tons/day. After many expansions and transformations, it has reached 1995, with a designed water production capacity of 250,000 tons/day, which mainly undertakes the water supply task of the whole north block. The whole plant is shaded by trees, and the environment is clean and beautiful. It has been rated as one of the top 400 national greening enterprises for many times.

Xiangfu Waterworks includes two inlet pumping stations in Guantang and Fengkou, one outlet pumping station, and a set of water purification treatment systems with145,000 tons/day and105,000 tons/day, all of which are conventional water purification treatment processes of flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection. The factory has a sludge drying treatment system, and the process is concentration, conditioning and centrifugal dehydration. The sludge water from sedimentation tank can be centrifugally treated by adding chemicals, which can meet the requirement of zero discharge of sewage and has remarkable environmental protection benefits.

The raw water of Xiangfu Waterworks is taken from Dongtiaoxi, which is the only one of the five existing waterworks in Hangzhou that takes water from non-Qiantang River system. The water intake is located at the tuyere of Yuhang, 0/7km away from the factory/kloc-. The upstream of Dongtiaoxi is Lin 'an Qingshan Reservoir, and the downstream is Taihu Lake. Its water quality is characterized by high organic matter content and frequent water pollution, such as turbidity, ammonia nitrogen, oxygen consumption and nitrite content. In recent years, Xiangfu Waterworks has devoted itself to tackling key scientific and technological problems and achieved good results in order to ensure that the water quality indexes of the factory water meet the internal control standards of the Group. A set of methods of adding potassium permanganate, alum, pre-chlorination and post-chlorination to the source water of Dongtiaoxi River is summarized, which not only ensures the quality and stability of water quality, but also realizes energy saving and consumption reduction. Many QC achievements, such as reducing alum consumption of water-making units and improving the qualified rate of residual chlorine in factory water, won national, provincial and municipal awards, which not only solved the production problems of water plants, but also made great contributions to energy saving and consumption reduction of enterprises.
