The Changsha Railway Transport Court was established in May 1981. It is a specialized judicial organ set up by the state in railways and is under the leadership of the Hunan Provincial Higher People's Court.

The court of appeal is the Guangzhou Railway Transport Intermediate Court. The jurisdiction spans 9 cities in Hunan Province, including Yueyang, Changsha, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, Loudi, Shaoyang, Yongzhou, Yiyang, and Changde.

More than 1,000 kilometers of railway lines (including national railways, local railways and special transport lines), more than ten railway station units and nearly 50,000 railway employees.

Changsha Railway Transport Court belongs to the category of civil servants. There are quite a lot of people applying for this category, but only a few people are recruited, so the competition for positions is very high.
