At the same time, relying on the engineering advantages of the school, students are encouraged to study interdisciplinary to meet the needs of social market economy development and international exchanges. In the past three years, English teachers have undertaken seven scientific research projects, presided over the provincial excellent course 1, won the second prize of provincial teaching achievement 1, published two translated books1and two textbooks. At present, there are 25 teachers, including 3 professors, associate professors 10, lecturers 10, 2 teaching assistants, and master tutor 12. All teachers have a master's degree or above.

The undergraduate education of French majors follows the educational concept of combining talent training with talent use, and cultivates French senior talents with solid French language and literature foundation and extensive scientific and cultural knowledge, who can engage in translation, scientific research, teaching and management in the departments of economy, trade, education, foreign affairs, culture, press and publication, scientific research and tourism.

The French major in our school is the earliest French undergraduate major in Gansu Province. At present, there are 12 teachers, of whom 1 has a doctor's degree, 7 have a master's degree, and 3 senior foreign teachers are employed all the year round.

Main courses: basic French, advanced French, spoken French, French listening, French writing, French reading, French-Chinese translation theory and practice, French interpretation, French history, French literature history, French culture, etc.

Main professional direction: French language and culture. Our Spanish major is the earliest Spanish undergraduate major in Gansu Province, and our school is also the only institution in the province that offers Spanish undergraduate major. This major follows the educational concept of combining talent training with talent use, aiming at cultivating a solid Spanish language foundation and listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating skills; Understand the national conditions of China and the social culture of Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries; Good Chinese expression ability and preliminary scientific research ability; Spanish professionals with a certain practical application ability of a second foreign language.

The Spanish Department has eight teachers and employs two senior foreign teachers all the year round. Spanish teachers have rich teaching experience and experience in interpretation and translation. He worked as an interpreter at China Import and Export Fair, the first Gansu Solar Energy International Conference, and as an engineering translator at China Railway 10th Bureau.

The undergraduate education of Portuguese majors follows the educational concept of combining talent training with talent use, and cultivates Portuguese professionals who have a solid foundation in Portuguese language and literature and extensive scientific and cultural knowledge and can engage in translation, scientific research, teaching and management in the departments of economy, trade, education, foreign affairs, culture, press and publication, scientific research and tourism.

There are 3 Portuguese teachers and 2 senior foreign teachers all the year round. Portuguese professional teachers have rich experience in interpretation and translation, and have served as Portuguese interpreters at international conferences and Canton Fair.
