Is Siming District on or off the island?

Siming District is the economic, political, cultural and financial center of Xiamen. It is located in the south of Xiamen (including Gulangyu Island), surrounded by the sea on three sides, facing the Xiaojinmen Islands and Zhangzhou mainland across the sea, with an area of 84 square kilometers and a total population of 6.5438+0.074 million. Geographic information:

Siming District is located in the south of Xiamen, bounded by 24 26 ′ ~ 24 28 ′ north latitude and118 03 ′ ~1813 ′ east longitude. It consists of the southern part of Xiamen Island and Gulangyu Island, and is adjacent to Huli District in the north.

The terrain of Siming District is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with hills, terraces and plains transitioning to the coast in turn. Because of its small area, short rivers directly flowing into the sea and small total water resources on the island, Siming District cannot meet the needs of production and life. The water diversion project of Jiangbei Creek in Kowloon has become the main water source of Xiamen Island. Granite hills, mountains and beaches provide natural resources for tourism.
