1949,10 In May, the editorial department of the Education Department of Henan Provincial People's Government, the predecessor of Henan People's Publishing House, was established in Kaifeng, moved to Xinxiang and settled in Zhengzhou. It has bred Zhongzhou Calligraphy and Painting Society (now Zhongzhou Ancient Books Publishing House), Henan Science and Technology Publishing House, Henan Children Publishing House (now Haiyan Publishing House), Henan Education Publishing House (now Elephant Publishing House), Henan Fine Arts Publishing House, Yellow River Literature and Art Publishing House (now Henan Literature and Art Publishing House), Central Plains Farmers Publishing House and Wenxin Publishing House. Since its establishment more than 70 years ago, it has conscientiously implemented the party's publishing policy, adhered to the correct publishing orientation, and gradually formed a book product line with three major sections: theme publishing, characteristic publishing and academic publishing, centering on the center and serving the overall situation.

A large number of excellent books on philosophy and social sciences have been published, focusing on recording the history of China, studying the spirit of China, reflecting the great changes in China, showing the culture of the Central Plains, spreading the image of Henan and eulogizing the spirit of the times. More than 25,000 books have been published.
