Shiwan Town is located in the southeast of Chancheng District. Shiwan Town was originally a municipal district of Foshan City, Guangdong Province. It is a famous ceramic town in China. In 2000, Shiwan District governed two streets and four towns. On February 8, 2002, Shiwan District abolished Foshan City and Shiwan District and established Chancheng District of Foshan City. The former administrative areas of Foshan City, Shiwan District and South Hainan Zhuang Town were the administrative areas of Chancheng District, and Shiwan Town Street was established on September 2, 20031.
