Kunming Industrial Vocational and Technical College is a public general higher vocational and technical college in Yunnan Province. The school is the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units in China, a national metallurgical talent training base, a provincial demonstration vocational college in Yunnan Province, a characteristic vocational college in Yunnan Province, and a high-skilled talent training base in Yunnan Province. The predecessor of the college is Kunming Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. Technical School, which was founded in 1964. In 2002, Kunming Industrial Vocational and Technical College was established.

The college focuses on engineering majors such as metallurgy, machinery, materials and electricity, and trains advanced applied talents to meet the needs of modern industrial enterprises. College is a "training base for advanced skilled personnel" in Yunnan Province and a "civilized unit" in Kunming.
