What is telecommunications?

Telecom is an Internet access provider, which provides Internet access services, so you can say that Internet cafes, black Internet cafes or personal ip are all possible, but as far as I know, telecom mostly has corporate private line customers, and personal IP can basically be excluded.

Beijing Telecom Data Service Co., Ltd. was established in July 20001year. Beijing Telecom Data Service Co., Ltd. devotes itself to providing total telecom solutions for domestic and foreign customers through its Value-added Telecom Service Center (ITSC) and Customer Relationship Management Center (CRM). The telecom data value-added telecom service center is located in the core area of CBD in Chaoyang District, Beijing, covering an area of 24,000 square feet. It has world-class facilities, advanced network and abundant bandwidth resources, and provides 24-hour technical support services.

CNCnet was established in February 1999. It is a joint venture company jointly funded by Shanghai Municipal Government, China Academy of Sciences, State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and Railway 43. The development orientation of the company is to establish high-speed internet in China, provide high-speed internet access services (bandwidth wholesale) to group users, and then provide broadband multimedia services to individual users by building the user's resident network of the information building/community. In June 2000, 5438+ 10, Netcom announced the establishment of a high-speed national backbone network based on advanced transmission technology DWDM. The initial coverage of CNCNET broadband high-speed backbone communication network is southeast 17 cities. CNCNET is a high-speed broadband network based on IP technology and a new generation of high-speed broadband backbone network optimized by pure IP. At present, Internet data centers (IDC) have been established in Beijing and Shanghai to provide hosting services for enterprise users. Netcom's IP backbone network is quite advanced, but it is worth noting that at present, Netcom's foreign business has just started, the network has not passed the test of large-capacity actual traffic operation, and the construction of metropolitan area network is also in its infancy, lacking optical fiber access network from optical fiber to building. Therefore, it is impossible to provide universal services of FTTB+ LAN to buildings, which has become a bottleneck restricting the development of individual and group users. At present, in terms of user access, users can make IP phone calls and surf the Internet through 17930 by renting the local telephone relay of China Telecom, or provide IP phone service to Guangdong Company of China Mobile Company (use 1795 1).

China Unicom is committed to the construction of CDMA mobile communication network. In terms of data, the backbone network adopts IP+ATM technology. Apart from providing 179 10 dial-up IP telephone, 165 dial-up Internet access and appropriate data line access, China Unicom has not invested much energy in broadband IP data services. Jitong's business is mainly concentrated in the field of data communication, mainly providing 17920 dial-up IP phones and various private Internet services, and the network scale is slightly smaller than that of China Unicom. However, they are all active. In order to overcome the bottleneck of construction access, China Unicom is experimenting with LMDS wireless access technology, but it will take some time to form a stable productivity.

Great Wall Broadband Network Company and Urban Construction Digital Company: Based on the future development, seize the users of the "last 100 meter" information building/residential area resident network. However, due to the lack of IP MAN, national Internet backbone network and international export bandwidth, users' real broadband business needs, especially real-time services, such as Internet TV and movies, cannot be guaranteed. At present, China Telecom's "China Public Multimedia Communication Network" is mainly accessed by renting a private line of China Telecom, and the access rate is below 2Mbps (generally 5 12Kbps). The Internet access efficiency of individual users is equivalent to the ISDN dial-up Internet access provided by China Telecom through the telephone line (128Kbps).

Cable TV video broadband network: Cable TV has rich TV programs and is an important resource for the network to attract users; It has a metropolitan backbone optical fiber network, and uses the widely distributed copper cables of CATV to realize the internet access function through two-way transformation. However, the cost of two-way transformation is very high, and the cable modem at the user end is also very expensive. When the number of users is large, the speed is difficult to guarantee, and its development needs to be tested by practice.
