Is it easy to find a job in pharmacy?
The statement above is very incomplete.
You can’t just get into the hospital if you want to. First of all, you must pass the pharmacist exam after graduation. This is the minimum requirement, otherwise the hospital will never want you. Before that, you have to endure it, receive the minimum subsidy as an intern, and be a second-class citizen and suffer everywhere. Secondly, even if you pass the pharmacist exam, it is very risky to enter the pharmacy department, because large hospitals prefer to recruit pharmacists with a medical background, and such people are more useful than pure pharmacy students. Besides, the employment environment in the hospital is closed, and the academic requirements are very high. You need to continuously study for master's and doctoral degrees, otherwise there will be no chance of promotion. In addition, you still need to rely on connections and smiles everywhere, and it will take more than ten years before you can get a decent treatment. (Even if you have a doctorate in medicine, how much can you earn in the hospital just a few years after graduation? If you work overtime until you are exhausted, you will not have as much money as a migrant worker.)
Pharmaceutical factory, you'd better wake up. The pharmaceutical knowledge taught in schools mainly involves research and development, but the problem is that most domestic pharmaceutical companies now have no intention of investing in research and development. Once you get the approval document for a Category IV new drug, you dare to start production. Those who can produce Category II new drugs are actually large and powerful companies, and Category I new drugs are even rarer. Moreover, even the so-called first-class new drugs are generic drugs copied from abroad, and their profitability is far less than that of the original research and development. Domestic pharmaceutical companies do not have the courage to engage in research and development, and there is no position for researchers. For those bosses, having money to support a researcher is not as profitable as having a few salespeople. If pharmacy graduates don't want to do sales in a pharmaceutical factory, they can only work as lighting inspectors in the workshop. If they can get a quality inspector in the quality inspection department, they have a promising future. Want to do management? Unless you are the boss's nephew.
The Food and Drug Administration is just a cloud, unless you can take the civil service exam. Besides, even if you join an agency, life will be easier if you have connections. Different people are suitable for different environments, some people can be like a fish in water, and some people will be suffocated.
To stay in school and teach, you must have an academic degree. Go get a PhD. In this era when there are so many PhDs, even ordinary universities have the ability to pick and choose. Even if you have a chance to stay in school for a master's degree, you will have to do odd jobs. Without funds and projects, you will have nothing. Relatively speaking, the Turtles have a better chance of being hired. Compared with several other professions, at least this profession is relatively easy and stable.
As a researcher, it is difficult to find a job unless you can work in a publicly funded institution. After all, there are too few domestic pharmaceutical R&D companies compared to the massive number of pharmacy students. Big pharmaceutical companies are reluctant to spend money, and small research institutes have an unpredictable future. At the same time, they lack venture capital. The pay is good, but not everyone can get in. A bachelor's degree is preceded by a master's degree, and a master's degree is preceded by a doctorate. If you want to be a researcher, just take the exam honestly. Of course, if you have the chance, try to go abroad.
If there is really no other way out, then you can only go to the company to do sales (the so-called medical representative). You may not know it well, but there are actually a lot of shady secrets in the field of pharmaceutical sales. Pretending to be a grandson, stuffing red envelopes, visiting people at home, working endless overtime to socialize, and taking the risk of paying bribes. If the business is good, you will get a lot of money, but it is definitely not a human life. To give a simple example, once the behavior of stuffing red envelopes is discovered, in order to avoid being deducted points from the bidding or even having the business license revoked, the pharmaceutical company will never admit that it has instructed its employees to stuff red envelopes. Therefore, this is an employee's personal behavior. In order to prove the integrity of the company, the pharmaceutical company will not hesitate to abandon the car and fire the employee. Besides, don’t think that the pharmaceutical market is really easy to do. The division of territory in this industry is very serious. You can’t definitely send drugs to a certain hospital just by stuffing money. Because the office directors in the hospital are also afraid of being reported, so they don’t dare. Feel free to change the supplier. No matter how much money is stuffed, as long as the director doesn't nod, the salesperson will still drink the northwest wind. Unless they are very lucky, new salespeople can only start developing hospitals that are small and controlled by other pharmaceutical companies. In this case, the performance can be imagined. This is a highly mobile profession, and every year countless medical representatives are desperate.
