What does die forging mean?

Forging can be divided into manual forging and die forging.

Die forging refers to first heating the metal to a liquid or softened state. Then put it into the mold, and form it once, sometimes for many times, by closing the upper and lower molds of the mold.

The difference between casting and casting is that the heated molten metal is poured directly into the mold, and the upper and lower molds need to be closed for die forging, which is subjected to extrusion force during the forming process, so the microstructure and mechanical properties of die forgings are better than those of castings.

In addition, like some complex shapes and mass production, die forging is generally used instead of manual forging.
