He Jun (1896- 1979) is from Erdaogou, Tongtai Township, Dehui County, Jilin Province. He was born in a poor peasant family and was influenced by his mother. He Jun likes painting since he was a child. After three years of hard study, I learned the traditional folk painting, paper binding, clay sculpture and other arts accumulated by my ancestors for decades. At the age of eleven, he drew a picture of twenty-four filial piety for the landlord, which was praised by everyone. From then on, he became a "genius painter" in a famous village and began his folk art career.

He Jun worked as an artist in his hometown for 4 1 year. After rough times, he traveled to Dehui, Jiutai, Changchun, Fuyu and Baiquan in Heilongjiang Province, worked as a paper maker, repaired temples and took photos.

The statue of Yue captured for Biangang Temple in Dehui County and the ten-volume painting "Eighteen Floors of Hell" drawn for Kannonji in Dehui County are precious manifestations of the national spirit and national consciousness of the Chinese nation during the Japanese puppet regime.

1953, he left his hometown to join the revolutionary ranks. During the period of 1954, it was enrolled by Northeast Art College. His applied work "A Dead Tree in Spring" can be said to be the author's self-statue, which embodies the image of a peasant artist who has experienced vicissitudes and gained new life. 1957 created the group sculpture "National Hero Zheng Chenggong Recovered Taiwan Province". This work was selected to participate in the first national craft exhibition, and was highly praised and published in People's Daily, Guangming Daily, Ta Kung Pao and Liaoning Ten-year Album, and was collected by the state. From 65438 to 0957, He Jun attended the First National Conference of Folk Artists and the All-China Handicraft Cooperative Conference. His works are praised as "ingenious", called "clay figurine welcome" by Northeast artists, and received by Commander-in-Chief Zhu. From 1958, he was re-elected as a member of the second, third and fourth sessions of Liaoning CPPCC. 1959 transferred to the sculpture department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts to teach. He created works while teaching, which contributed to the inheritance of folk sculpture heritage and colorful sculpture skills and the cultivation of successors of national folk sculpture.

He Jun has been engaged in folk sculpture for more than 70 years, experienced the old and new societies and traveled to three northeastern provinces. His artistic thoughts and achievements have broken through the level of folk artists in the late Qing Dynasty. In the new socialist China, his art has been fully developed, leaving many precious works, and he is an accomplished folk clay sculpture artist.

1979 He Jun died of illness at the age of 83. According to the will, the ashes are sent back to their hometown.
