In the fifteenth year of Guangxu (1889), Ambassador Baiyanjingyan moved to Queen Qiao. In 1953, the Yunnan Provincial Salt Administration Bureau set up a branch in Qiaohou, with jurisdiction over four fields: Qiaohou, Misha, Yunlong and Laji. In July 1955, it was changed to Qiaohou Salt Factory. In 1962, it was renamed Qiaohou Salt Mine.

In 1970, vacuum evaporation equipment with an annual output of 50,000 tons was put into production. In 1987, a new vacuum evaporation equipment with an annual output of 50,000 tons was built. In August 2003, it was acquired by Yunnan Salt Chemical Co., Ltd. and established the Qiaohou Salt Mine of Yunnan Salt Chemical Co., Ltd. with an annual production capacity of 70,000 tons of refined salt.
