Liaoyang has Shenyang University of Technology Engineering College, Liaoyang Vocational and Technical College, Liaoning Vocational College of Architecture and other universities. Liaoyang No.1 University is the Engineering College of Shenyang University of Technology, the second is Liaoyang Vocational and Technical College, and the third is Liaoning Vocational College of Architecture. Shenyang University of Technology is a multi-disciplinary research and application-oriented university. Founded in 1949, 1985 was renamed Shenyang University of Technology by Shenyang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Technology. It was originally an institution under the Ministry of Machinery Industry. Starting from 1998, it was jointly established by the central and local governments and mainly managed by Liaoning Province.
