Advantages and disadvantages of filling mining method

The production practice shows that, compared with other mining methods, the filling mining method has the following advantages: (1) the amount of mining and cutting work is small and the flexibility is great; (2) Low ore loss and dilution; (3) It can effectively maintain the surrounding rock, reduce the movement of surrounding rock and prevent a large number of caving; (4) For thin veins or multi-variety ores, separate mining can be carried out; (5) Preventing internal fires caused by mining of mineral deposits; (6) Waste rocks and tailings can be used as filling materials; (7) controlling land subsidence; (8) Improve the underground mining environment. The main disadvantages of filling method are: complex mining and filling, and mutual influence between mining and filling. If the mechanization of mining operations cannot be properly solved, the production efficiency and productivity will be low, and the cost of raw ore will be high due to the expenses of mining, processing and transportation of filling materials.
