Introduction of Pingnan Railway Line?

Pingnan Railway is a railway located in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, connecting Pinghu and Nantou. Managed and operated by Shenzhen Pingnan Railway Co., Ltd., the services provided include freight and long-distance passenger transport. Pingnan Railway is a local joint-venture railway in Chinese mainland without government investment, and it is built entirely by enterprise financing loans. It is also the first railway in Chinese mainland that is jointly built by Chinese and foreign enterprises and operated and managed in a joint-stock system.

Pingnan Railway currently has a total length of 36.4 kilometers (Pinghu Station-Mawan Station), connecting guangzhou-shenzhen railway and Beijing-Kowloon Railway at the eastern end of Pinghu Station. From east to west, it passes through Longgang District, Baoan District and Nanshan District of Shenzhen. Sakata Station, Xili Station and Shenzhen West Railway Station are set up along the way. Linking Shekou Port and Mawan Port at the western end. There is also a branch line connecting Shekou Station. Pingnan Railway will vigorously develop container transport and multimodal transport. According to the planning of Shenzhen, Shenzhen West Railway Station will be built into the second railway passenger station in Shenzhen and the second railway passage to Hong Kong.

Because Pingnan Railway has not yet set up a safety net and implemented closed management, pedestrians and vehicles illegally cross the railway and other safety accidents and dangers are particularly frequent in the sections near densely populated areas such as Nanshan District and Baoan District. The guardrail along Longgang District 12.4 km railway was completed in 2008.

In order to cooperate with the development of Shenzhen Qianhai area, more development space is reserved. On September 2005 1, 2065438, the demolition of the section of Pingnan Railway from Shenzhen West Station to Qianhai Mawan Port began (but construction has not yet started) to record the development of Shenzhen Special Zone. The section from Shenzhen West Railway Station to Pinghu Station is reserved. In the future, Shenzhen Municipal Government plans to relocate Shenzhen West Railway Station to Xili.
