Institutional setup of Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences

Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry has vegetable research center, forestry fruit tree research center, animal husbandry and veterinary research institute, aquatic science research institute, plant protection and environmental protection research institute, plant nutrition and resources research institute, agricultural science and technology information research institute, agricultural comprehensive development research institute, Beijing agricultural information technology research center, Beijing agricultural biotechnology research center, hybrid wheat research center, corn research center and Beijing grass industry and environment research and development center. There are four research institutes (centers), such as Agricultural Products Quality Testing and Farmland Environmental Monitoring Technology Research Center, with four national engineering technology research centers, four original seed bases and resource gardens of the Ministry of Agriculture, five high-tech laboratories and centers of the Ministry of Agriculture, and nine Beijing high-tech laboratories and professional research centers.

For more than 50 years, Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry has implemented full-time employment contract system, full-time annual assessment system and professional and technical post appointment system (pilot), implemented open recruitment system for new recruits in accordance with the principle of "openness, fairness and equality", and established youth research funds and research award funds to encourage young experts to stand out. The hospital currently has 1850 employees, including 3 senior professional technicians, 2 doctors and 300 masters. Postdoctoral workstations 1 unit, 5 doctoral training centers and 7 master training centers. In addition, 1 person was selected as the national outstanding youth, 27 people were selected as the national or Beijing "100 million" talent project, 19 people were awarded the title of outstanding young intellectuals in Beijing, 24 people were selected as outstanding contribution experts in Beijing, 63 people enjoyed the special allowance of Beijing municipal government, and 127 people were selected as the Beijing science and technology star training plan. Young scientific research backbones under the age of 45 account for more than 80% of the hospital, basically forming an excellent talent echelon with young and middle-aged talents as the mainstay and the combination of old, middle and young.

"Innovation and service" is the foundation of Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry. Our hospital has gone through more than 50 years, especially since the reform and opening up. Under the correct leadership of Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, centering on the function and orientation of Beijing's agriculture, taking scientific and technological innovation as the starting point and serving the suburbs as the foothold, we constantly adjust the focus of our work and vigorously inherit the agricultural spirit of "seeking truth from facts, pioneering and innovating, and forging ahead in unity". After several generations' efforts, a complete agricultural scientific research system has been established, including animal and plant germplasm innovation and new variety breeding, agricultural information technology, aquatic science, factory farming, biological control, poultry disease control, environmental protection fertilizer, urban modern agricultural development research and other advantageous disciplines. While providing important scientific and technological support for Beijing's agricultural development, it has also made great contributions to the national agricultural scientific and technological progress and agricultural modernization.

Since the 11th Five-Year Plan, Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry has undertaken nearly 825 national and municipal projects. Won all kinds of scientific and technological achievements awards at or above the provincial level 1 10, including 8 second prizes for national scientific and technological progress; Shennong China first prize 1, municipal science and technology first prize 2, municipal agricultural extension first prize 18. Obtained national patents for inventions and utility models 160, and obtained 20 certificates for new product protection and new veterinary drugs. Published 254 SCI and EI papers.
