The Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China has no regulations on the use of lights. The Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates the use of low beam and high beam as follows:

Article 47 When a motor vehicle overtakes, it shall turn on the left turn signal in advance, change the use of far and near lights or honk the horn.

Article 48 On roads without central isolation facilities or central lines.

When a motor vehicle is driving in the opposite direction, the following provisions shall be observed:

1. When passing at night, use the low beam lamp at the place opposite to150m, and use the low beam lamp when passing on narrow roads, bridges and non-motor vehicles.

2. When turning left, turn left at the center of the intersection. Turn on the turn signal when turning and turn on the low beam when driving at night;

3. Motor vehicles should turn on the headlights, position lights and rear position lights when driving in the night without street lights, poor lighting or in case of fog, rain, snow, dust and hail, but the rear vehicle driving in the same direction shall not use the high beam when driving close to the front vehicle.
