Should students bring mobile phones to the debate?

Cellphones should not be brought.

Bringing a mobile phone has its own purpose. Middle school students are always students, not just students but also underage students. College students do not advocate bringing mobile phones to class, and they must be turned to silent mode if they do. You can't answer the phone if you have one, let alone a junior high school student. What's the point of bringing it? It's a very important question for junior high school students facing the high school entrance examination.

Debate rules:

1. Cross-examination rules.

(1) Each team member’s speech should include answers and questions. Answers should be concise and questions should be clear (limit to one question at a time).

(2) When the other party raises a question, the party being asked must answer it and may not evade or refute it.

2. Rules of free debate.

(1) Free debate speeches must be alternated between the two teams. First, a member of the positive side will speak, and then a member of the negative side will speak. Both sides take turns until time runs out.

(2) The time spent by each team is calculated cumulatively. When one party finishes speaking, the time spent by the other team will be calculated.

(3) Within the total time, there is no limit on the order, frequency and time of speeches by members of each team.

(4) If one team’s time has run out, the other team can give up speaking, or they can take turns speaking until time runs out. Giving up speaking will not affect your score.

3. During the debate, parties are not allowed to read out previously prepared manuscripts or display prepared charts, but they can produce abstracts from books or newspapers cited.

4. During the competition, debaters are not allowed to leave their seats, disturb the other party or their own debaters, or give loud prompts or make overly strong movements or expressions.
