Zhongyuan Publishing Media Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd. was transformed from Henan Publishing Group into an enterprise. On the basis of authorized operation, the parent-subsidiary company system with assets as the link and the industrialized, market-oriented, diversified and modern group operation mechanism adapted to the requirements of market economy have been established. It is a physical asset funded by the Henan provincial government after capital verification. The original member units, subordinate units and wholly-owned, holding and shareholding companies of Henan Publishing Group will be transformed into wholly-owned enterprises, wholly-owned subsidiaries, holding companies and shareholding companies of the group company, and their independent legal person status will be retained.

As of 2007, the Group has 156 member companies and 3 holding companies, including 10 publishers and 134 publishers, with total assets of 7 billion yuan. It has jurisdiction over Henan Literature and Art Publishing House Co., Ltd. and Henan Science and Technology Publishing House Co., Ltd., Henan Xinhua Marketing Media Group Co., Ltd. (formerly Sales and Market magazine), Henan Xinhua Materials Group Co., Ltd., Elephant Publishing House, Haiyan Publishing House, Henan People's Publishing House, Henan Electronic Audio-visual Publishing House Co., Ltd., Zhongzhou Newspaper, Henan Publishing Foreign Trade Company, Henan Xinhua Bookstore, Culture Times Newspaper, Middle School Students Learning News Agency, Calligraphy Reading Agency, Henan Publishing Logistics Service Center and Henan News Agency.
