The Happy Story started shooting on September 19, 2020, and it took nearly five months to shoot and create. Among them, we took photos in Li Xiu and Xidi in yi county, Nanping, Pingshan, Xiuning Yanpu, Liyang and RT Mart in Tunxi, Huangshan College and Changren Hospital in Tunxi, and the ancient village (Pingqiao) in Xixi in Huizhou District.

According to director Zheng Xiaolong, the main reason for choosing Huangshan in the play is that he visited Huangshan during his college years and was deeply impressed by its infinite scenery. At the same time, the author of the novel is from Anhui, and choosing to shoot in Anhui can put the story back into the artistic conception of the original novel. More importantly, Huangshan has distinctive local characteristics and culture.
