Where is Suzhou Tong Yuan Art Museum (Yuantong Temple)?

Suzhou Tong Yuan Art Museum (Yuantong Temple) is a cultural relic protection unit in Suzhou.

Tong Yuan Art Museum is located to the east of a wall in Netscape Garden. Yuantong Temple was built in the Xichun period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1174-189), the 29th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1903) and the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932-/kloc-0) In 2007, social forces invested in the reconstruction of Yuantong Temple, and Suzhou Tong Yuan Art Museum, Suzhou Prehistoric Jade Research Association and Museum were established in the original site.

The cultural relics in the collection include porcelain, ancient jade and oil paintings.

This museum mainly displays prehistoric civilizations in China (introducing Hongshan Culture 6500 years ago in the northeast, Qijia culture 4000 years ago in the northwest and Liangzhu culture 5000 years ago in Taihu Lake Basin). Through the guidance of propaganda, dissemination, research and appraisal, we can truly touch the real object of prehistoric civilization-ancient jade. Ancient jade is the highest cultural carrier of prehistoric civilization, reflecting ancient etiquette, beliefs and even aesthetic concepts. Can be said to be a miniature history of Chinese civilization.

In addition to inviting Zhu, an oil painter living in the United States, to set up a working room, there are also precious works of art by China modern oil painters Liu Haisu, Wu Zuoren and Chang Shuhong, as well as exquisite porcelain products of past dynasties. Show friends at home and abroad the profound cultural heritage of the collection and the permanent charm of Suzhou's rich humanities.
